Mary Cassatt (1844 - 1926)

Born Mary Stevenson Cassatt, on May 23, 1844, in Allegheny City, Pennsylvania

She lived in France for much of her life and befriended fellow impressionists Edgar Degas and Camille Pissarro

Often painted the lives of women and children. She worked to give women equal representation

The artist died on June 14, 1926, at the age of 82 in Chateau de Beaufresne, France
