Dear LCMS Panther Families,
Thank you to those families who donated to the PTSA Fundraiser. They were able to raise $3,500!!
Congratulations to both Boys & Girls Varsity Volleyball Teams who finished 1st seed in their divisions going into Saturday's district tournament! Good luck! Go Panthers!
We are almost to the end of the first quarter. Please be sure to ask your children about any exam reviews they should have to prepare for next week. All information should be on their teachers' eCampus pages. Please see the info below.
Also, we have noticed that students seem to be forgetting that they are not allowed to be on their cellphones during instructional time - that is any time they are in a classroom, whether it is an academic class or an elective (including the gym).
Have a great week!
Sincerely,
Dr. Melissa Laudani
Principal, Lawton Chiles MS
Have a question about a class? Everything you need is in eCampus - look there prior to reaching out to teachers - see Parents tab on the website for login information.
At home, students login using their email address: student#@student.myscps.us
Did you know you can get your own login to your child's eCampus courses? Become an eCampus Observer - see Parents page of the website for directions to become an eCampus observer for every class.
Need to find a due date in a class? Go into eCampus and look at the Calendar - good at-a-glance of your child's due dates for all of their classes.
If your child is absent, go to eCampus first to see the assignment(s) they missed. Do this before emailing the teachers.
Skyward is where to go if you need to see a grade or see what is missing. Click on the letter grade in the Quarter to open the gradebook for that class. Then go to eCampus to see the actual assignment.
Please be aware for both eCampus and Skyward the app is different than accessing these on a computer/laptop. The app is too minimalistic to use on a regular basis. You and your child should both be logging into these sites on a computer/laptop to access the above mentioned information.
For those students who have been selected for the cross-country team, please have them accept the two eCampus pages they get invited to when they receive the notification (sometime between now and Monday afternoon). One is the mandatory paperwork page and the other is the cross-country page. All practice and meet days and times are on this page. Our first practice will be on Tuesday, October 10th until 5 pm. Congratulations to the team!
Beginning October 30th, students in grades 4-12 will have the opportunity to take part in the SCPS Safety Survey. Your student’s input and comments are important.
Participation in the surveys provides valuable information on our school and helps to guide school improvement. Participant identities and survey responses are completely anonymous and will never be connected to your student.
The SCPS Safety survey will be administered online. To preview the questions that students will respond to click here.

You may not be aware but we have 2 group homes for children in foster care in our attendance zone. These 2 homes combined have approximately 40 students in residence. We are looking for donations of Halloween candy and small favors to make goodie bags as these children are not allowed to trick or treat. Donations can be dropped off in the front office - nothing with peanuts please.

One of the prizes, the MEGA Blast! field event, is shown to students as a demonstration video. Students will also receive a fundraiser packet at the assembly to take home for family review.

Your signed permission does not require your student to raise any funds for the school or participate in the fundraiser itself.
