LCMS Paw Prints Newsletter

Dear LCMS Panther Families,

This past week was full of performances and celebrations. Between The Little Mermaid, the Chorus Concert, Girls Varsity Basketball Final Four, Student of the Month, and the Band Concert our Panthers shone on the stage, on the court, and all over campus! Pictures are included below.

This week we also celebrated our Golden Panthers of the Month - Ms. Forrester and Mr. Kenny! Pictures included below.

Yesterday was a great first day of testing. Please be sure to see the testing schedule and bell schedule below. Please be aware that attendance may be incorrect during testing. Teachers who are not testing will continue to take attendance and may mark a student absent who is taking a test. Mrs. Garcia, our Attendance Clerk, will be going back and correcting attendance after the fact. Thank you for your patience.

Testing Schedule & Bell Schedule

May 1st, we started our FAST and EOC testing.  Students will be tested as indicated in the schedule below.

There are 4 days that will be flipped - meaning 7th period will start at 9:30 am and 1st period will end at 4:05 pm. They are also indicated below.

5/1 - FAST ELA 8

5/2 - NGSSS SCI 8 - flip 7-1

5/5 - FAST ELA 7

5/6 - CIVICS EOC - flip 7-1

5/7 - FAST MATH 8 & BIOLOGY EOC

5/8 - FAST ELA 6 

5/9 - FAST MATH 6 - flip 7-1

5/12 - FAST MATH 7

5/13 - ALG/GEO EOC - flip 7-1

5/22 - 7th pd exam 

5/23 - 5th & 6th pd exams - dismissal at 2:05 pm

5/27 - 3rd & 4th pd exams - dismissal at 2:05 pm

5/28 - 1st & 2nd pd exams - dismissal at 2:05 pm 

Please encourage your child to get a good night's sleep and eat a good breakfast so that they are ready for their testing days.

Tdap Vaccine - Required for rising 7th graders

Is your student entering 7th grade next year? Don't forget they need their Tdap booster (tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis) or a valid exemption to start school on time in the Fall!

We're making it easy for you — SCPS Health Services, in partnership with the Florida Department of Health-Seminole, is hosting five Tdap Vaccination Clinics around Seminole County this March and April. 

No pediatrician? No insurance? No worries! This clinic is here to help our families get it done!

Planning to attend? Please visit the DOH-Seminole immunization portal at FL Immunization Screening Portal | Immunization Form (floridahealth.gov) to complete the forms ahead of time and expedite your visit.

8th grade Dance

Our 8th Grade Dance committee is working hard to make this year’s events memorable for the students! The PTSA wants to continue celebrating the students’ significant accomplishment of completing middle school, as we have done in years past. However, it takes a lot of people to make this happen, and they need more volunteers to help. Specifically, they are looking for people to join the decorations and fundraising committees. PTSA will also be looking for 6th and 7th grade parent volunteers to chaperone the dance, as 8th grade parents traditionally do not serve as chaperones on that special evening.

It's important to note that once these 8th grade parents step down, there will be no one left to take over the reins for future events. If you’re interested in getting involved—especially if you’ll have an 8th grader in the next few years and want to learn more about what to expect—please reach out to 8thgradelcms@gmail.com

Step 3 - Students then attend the club meetings and have fun! Any student who shows up for a meeting without the parent permission will not be allowed to stay.
