Dear LCMS Panther Families,

The end of the year is coming up quickly. Please be sure to visit the LCMS Website Calendar HERE for upcoming testing dates, concert and performance dates, and end of the year activities. 

Basketball season continues this week. All tickets are to be pre-purchased online for both the home and away games. The links to purchase all tickets can be found on the LCMS website HERE. Concessions will also be sold - cash only. Doors open for games at 4:30 pm. Use the Building 5 entrance by the bike rack. Tickets will be checked at the door. Students are not allowed to wait on campus until game time. They must leave as they normally would at dismissal and then return at 4:30 pm for the game.

Lorenzo Library Closed 

The Lorenzo Library will be closed from April 14 to May 2 for inventory, re-shelving, and deep cleaning. During this time, staff will conduct a thorough cataloging of books, ensuring accurate records and proper organization. Shelves will be rearranged to improve book visibility, making it easier for students to find engaging reads. Additionally, aesthetic enhancements will be made to create a more inviting and inspiring space for learning. We appreciate your patience and look forward to welcoming everyone back to an improved library experience!

Tdap Vaccine - Required for rising 7th graders

Is your student entering 7th grade next year? Don't forget they need their Tdap booster (tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis) or a valid exemption to start school on time in the Fall!

We're making it easy for you — SCPS Health Services, in partnership with the Florida Department of Health-Seminole, is hosting five Tdap Vaccination Clinics around Seminole County this March and April. 

No pediatrician? No insurance? No worries! This clinic is here to help our families get it done!

8th grade Dance

Our 8th Grade Dance committee is working hard to make this year’s events memorable for the students! The PTSA wants to continue celebrating the students’ significant accomplishment of completing middle school, as we have done in years past. However, it takes a lot of people to make this happen, and they need more volunteers to help. Specifically, they are looking for people to join the decorations and fundraising committees. PTSA will also be looking for 6th and 7th grade parent volunteers to chaperone the dance, as 8th grade parents traditionally do not serve as chaperones on that special evening.

It's important to note that once these 8th grade parents step down, there will be no one left to take over the reins for future events. If you’re interested in getting involved—especially if you’ll have an 8th grader in the next few years and want to learn more about what to expect—please reach out to 8thgradelcms@gmail.com 

8th Grade Spirit Week May 12th - 16th

8th Grade Spirit Week takes place in the days between the 8th grade dance and Gradventure, where both staff and students celebrate their successful years at LCMS by dressing up! The PTSA is asking for students' input on what they’d like their dress-up days to be. This week, your student had the opportunity to scan a QR code in their 4th period class to cast their vote.

Step 3 - Students then attend the club meetings and have fun! Any student who shows up for a meeting without the parent permission will not be allowed to stay.
