Dear LCMS Panther Families,

Congratulations to the LCMS Dividend of the Year, Tu Lam who was recognized on Monday at the District Celebration!

Wednesday, we inducted 134 new members into the LCMS Beta Club. These students all have at least a 3.75 GPA and personify the club motto: We lead by serving others. Congratulations to these Panthers! Please see below for pictures from these events. 

Tonight is Gradventure! We know our 8th graders will have so much fun!!

We are also looking forward to celebrating our students at our Awards Night on Tuesday. If your child received and invitation, they will be receiving an award. Emails were also sent to all parents. 

The Early Release Days start next week. Students will not be allowed to bring a backpack on those days. Since students will only have 2 classes per day, they will only need to bring the minimum supplies for each class. Please ask their teachers if you have any questions about what they need. Please note - students cannot be checked out in the front office after 1:35 pm on the early release days. If your child is going to miss any of these days, please contact their teachers to see what assignments they will need to make up.

SCPS - SUMMER TEST ADMINISTRATION

Seminole County Public Schools (SCPS) will offer B.E.S.T. Algebra 1 EOC, B.E.S.T. Geometry EOC, and NGSSS Biology 1 EOC during the Summer 2025 test administration, Tuesday, July 15.  The below information is located on the SCPS Assessment & Accountability website > Student Testing > Summer Testing & Registration.

SCPS STUDENTS' ONLINE REGISTRATION FORM

• SCPS Registration Form (Open from May 1 - June 13, 2025)

Test Administration Dates

• Tuesday, July 15:  End-of-Course (EOC) Assessments (Algebra 1, Geometry, and Biology 1)

  • If students need to take two assessments, students may take two in one day (morning and afternoon) OR one on Tuesday and one on Wednesday.

Testing Locations

• High Schools:  Crooms, Hagerty, Lake Brantley, Lake Howell, Lake Mary, Lyman, Oviedo, Seminole, and Winter Springs

  • Students should sign up at their zoned high school (not their zoned middle school).

SCPS Students to be Tested

• Students enrolled in Algebra 1, Geometry, Biology 1, and Civics EOCs and did not participate in Spring 2025 testing prior to the end of the school year.

• Students whose test was invalidated during the Spring 2025 test administration may participate in the Summer 2025 test administration.

• Students who earned a level 1 or level 2 on B.E.S.T. Algebra 1 EOC (e.g., students that did not pass the Algebra 1 EOC to meet the state's graduation requirements).

• Seminole County Virtual School (SCVS) students who did not participate in Spring 2025 testing because they had less than 70% course completion.

Skyward Attendance During Testing

During state testing, students may be marked absent by their teachers.  Our attendance office will make corrections within the week.  If your child's attendance is still incorrect after this time, please email lcms_attendance@scps.k12.fl.us . Teachers are unable to change attendance after the school day ends.

Student Test Results

You can view your student's scores in Skyward Family Access (you must use an internet browser not the app) within 48 hours of test completion.

PE locker clean-out

Student P.E. Lockers need to be clean out by Thursday, 5/22.  All items including locks must be cleared out.

Tdap Vaccine - Required for rising 7th graders

Is your student entering 7th grade next year? Don't forget they need their Tdap booster (tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis) or a valid exemption to start school on time in the Fall!

We're making it easy for you — SCPS Health Services, in partnership with the Florida Department of Health-Seminole, is hosting five Tdap Vaccination Clinics around Seminole County this March and April. 

No pediatrician? No insurance? No worries! This clinic is here to help our families get it done!

Planning to attend? Please visit the DOH-Seminole immunization portal at FL Immunization Screening Portal | Immunization Form (floridahealth.gov) to complete the forms ahead of time and expedite your visit.

Step 2 - Parents must click the link for the Permission Form and give permission for their student to attend. Take a note of the date and time. These forms will be added closer to the start of the school year. 

Step 3 - Students then attend the club meetings and have fun! Any student who shows up for a meeting without the parent permission will not be allowed to stay.
