Dear LCMS Panther Families,
This week I have a few updates and reminders:
1 - With the upcoming testing season, we have had a shift in responsibilities as follows. Below is the updated graphic for Who to Call.
Dr. Bridges - all discipline
Mrs. Velazquez - Facilities & Testing
2 - Please be aware that students should not be eating food in class. We are having students bring full bags of chips, candy, goldfish, etc and eat in class. Not only can these cause a disruption but food in classrooms leads to bugs. Please remind your child that they should not be eating in class.
3 - Our current students will be completing their registration in Skyward in class at the end of this month. If you have any questions or need more information, please see the Registration information on the LCMS Website Homepage: https://www.lcms.scps.k12.fl.us/
4 - If you haven't already submitted your, don't forget to provide us with feedback that is used to develop our School Improvement Plan each year. Please be sure to complete the Snapshot Survey here: https://scps.co1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_eu3jrYKv9wGou9g
Have a great week!
Sincerely,
Dr. Melissa Laudani
Principal, Lawton Chiles MS
With Valentine's Day approaching, we wanted to remind you about our policy prohibiting dropping off items for students in the Front Office. For school safety purposes, we are unable to accept dropped-off items for students at LCMS. This includes, but is not limited to, dropping off apparel, flowers, balloons, food or candy. We appreciate your understanding as managing and delivering items creates a disruption to the maintenance of our secure entrance to campus. If students are going to bring an item to gift to another student, it must fit in their backpack. Items larger than a backpack will be held in the front office for the day.
We know that many of you will start looking towards the Spring and May for scheduling. Below, please find the dates for our upcoming testing:

Beginning on January 30th, parents in Seminole County Public Schools will have the opportunity to take part in the Snapshot Survey. Results from this survey will help us to improve our school and will be used to create a more transparent school report card called the Snapshot Report. The Snapshot Report features a snapshot of parent and student perceptions as well as other critical data points.
Parents, please assist us by participating in this very short survey that will allow you to provide input in your own words about Lawton Chiles Middle School. The survey will ask how likely you are to recommend our school to others and will provide an opportunity for you to tell us about your experience.
Please click on the link below to access the survey:
https://scps.co1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_eu3jrYKv9wGou9g
All responses are collected anonymously, and no personally identifiable information will be included as a part of the survey. The survey will be open from January 30th to March 1s .
