Lesson 4
Today, we will be reading, studying , analyzing, and writing about poetry.
Here is how our lessons will go starting with lesson 5 to lesson 20.
We will look at a specific type of poem.
We will discuss and analyze some examples.
You will fill out a poem analysis Google Doc for a new poem.
You will turn this in.
You will write a poem that follows the rules for that type of poem.
Let's look at an example of how you will be expected to analyze the poems and fill out the Google Doc.
Apprehended By Autumn

A strong arm of wind
whistles at a crooked maple.
Caught red-handed,
the shady desperado raises
first one hand,
then another,
dropping its golden stash
in surrender.
Use the Google Doc to analysis this poem. Remember to make a copy and save it in your writing folder.
When you are finished with the assignment, here is what you can do:
Just keep writing.
Keep adding seeds.
Add to a already started seed.
Decide to take a seed through the writer’s process.
Reread your writing.
Edit your writing.
Work with a writing partner (with permission).
NEVER say "I am finished"
You need to be writing for a minimum of 30 minutes.
