Nonfiction Text Structures
Lesson 10 - Sequence Assessment
Today you are going to sequence another story. This will be turned in for a quiz grade.
Read the article, the fight to have a voice, the author will describe the events in order that led to all Americans getting the right to vote in the 1960's.
This article is primarily sequential. It is affected by time. That is, it tells how equal voter right started off as just an idea and ends up a federal law.
Now that you have read The Fight to Have a Voice, work to sequence the events in the text using the Sequence Handout - Voice in your Google Classroom lesson. Some events have been put in for you to keep you on track and show you an example.
You can read for the remainder of the time. For this unit you must be reading nonfiction. If you do not have a physical nonfiction book go to www.getepic.com/students and enter our class code: bzr3899. Select your name and go to your mailbox located near the top right. I have placed 40+ nonfiction books for you to read there in the three different categories.
