Today, we will use the theme based pattern organizer to help us write out the basic elements of an original story that has the same theme:
Sometimes it takes more than an apology to make up for something we did that hurt someone else.
Components of the theme based organizer:
This story is about...
In this section, identify the main and supporting characters and the setting.
The problem is that...
In this section, identify a problem the main character has in the story.
The problem gets worse when...
In this section, expand on the problem and show how it effects the main character.
The problem is resolved when...
In this section, the problem is resolved, the character learns and grow, and the story ends reveling the theme.
Using the information above and the story from our last lesson to complete the theme based organizer by writing out the basic elements of your story making sure it has the same theme.
It might look something like this, but with specifics: The main character does something wrong/makes a mistake. It gets worse. They are sorry and apologize. Finally, they do something to make up for their mistake.
Notice how this follows our theme.
Remember you will have to make a copy and save it in your writing folder.
Share your story patterns.
