You've asked for control of https://github.com/cloud4bio (everybody)

Let's do it! Have your github ids ready and we'll find out where should we add them such that you can create and share your own repositories. Should we give Gitter a chance?

Eric Dawson - github: edawson

The Genotype-Tissue Expression (GTEx) project (Oscar)

Home page at https://gtexportal.org, integration with Ensembl. Let's have a quick look at the APIs, https://observablehq.com/@jonasalmeida/gtex

Oscar will be our stakeholder on this one ...

Along the same lines - show&tell: serverless analytics for dceg.cancer.gov/confluence (only auth2ed users can run it, quick show only to highlight properties of cloud middle layers): https://episphere.github.io/confluence.

What is the Web+Cloud full stack in the "API Economy"? (Robert, Jonas)

Robert Stevens just joined NCI via CBIIT as a full stack developer. He specifically wants to know how this looks like. I (Jonas) thought no one would ever ask :-D.

This will be illustrated with the full cycle of

  1. creating a repository in cloud4bio,
  2. serving the front end with version control
  3. serving the backend via continuous deployment to a cloud service (as FaaS)
  4. how does team dev look like in such an environment
  5. Jupyterish things are becoming more and more popular in this space (Ben's opinion) (also Jonas!)

They are scaling up their workshops, even more interesting, a bunch of other parts of JIMB are!

Applications are due April 9th!

PS - note Ben's headers are also links to the events - thank's Ben :-)!
