NEPN/NSBA Code: JID
STUDENTS OF LEGAL AGE
All students in the school system, including students in regular classes who have reached the age of 18, students in the adult education program, and any post-secondary students attending Lewiston schools, shall observe all rules and procedures established by School Committee policy or the administration for all students unless specific exceptions have been made.
The administration is authorized to develop special rules for students of legal age, provided these rules do not violate basic Committee policy.
School personnel shall recognize that the adult status of students over the legal emancipation age of 18 provides rights and responsibilities to such students which are granted only to the parents of younger students, such as those concerning access to their school records.
