VOLUNTEER COACHES

In addition to the requirements for coaching eligibility delineated in policy GCAAD, volunteer coaches must meet the following guidelines: 

A. Any coach who wants to have a volunteer or volunteers work in their program must obtain the approval of the Building Administrator and Athletic Director prior to discussing the matter with prospective volunteers. 

B. If approval is given, prospective volunteers must complete an application and be interviewed by the Building Administrator and Athletic Director to determine their qualifications and suitability to work in the school system. 

C. Volunteers who work directly with student-athletes must be under the direct supervision of the coach. 

D. Volunteer coaches must meet the same standards of personal appearance and conduct expected of all other coaching staff. 

E. Relationships between volunteers and athletes must be maintained on a professional level and be consistent with the standards expected of all other coaching staff.
