The best way to get an acrylic lens to fit into a wooden frame without using glue or tape is to cut a piece of acrylic that is slightly larger (0.015) than the hole cut on the frames. To do this, utilize the Offset Path (Illustrator) or Contour (CorelDraw) tools found in your design program.
Use 0.015 outside Offset
Adobe Illustrator:
Select the inside lens objects
Object -> Path -> Offset Path...
Enter 0.015
Separate this new outline and cut that line using the laser cutter.
Corel Draw
Contour an Object:
(create a line that is set out away from the image, aka: offset a path)
Turn on the Contour toolbox. (click on Effects > Contour)
.
Select the Outside Outline (vector path) on the artboard.
In the Contour toolbox at the right, click the Contour icon.
Select the Outside Direction, add in an amount of movement for the path, and choose 1 Step for the number of steps to be created.
Then hit Apply.
.
Do the same for the interior Outline (vector path) and choose the Inside direction.
.
Last step before saving:
Right click > Break Contour Group Apart.
Delete the Inside Outlines. (Red)
