something that caught my attention is the fab farm, it caught my attention because i live on a farm (animals and apples not all food) and am always trying to come up with new creative ideas. the farm consisted of deigning and printing different things for the farm and the hard thing was to make it all work.
3. What FabLab ideas are rattling in your head about what you would like to make or explore?
some ideas in my head are making something that can help in the house, maybe like a switch that turns all the light on in your house but is also very stylish to add taste to your home. my interests are home design.
1. digital fabrication principles and practices – 1 week
the basics of what this class is on, we learned how to make and create something practically the first day.
2. computer-aided design, manufacturing, and modeling – 1 week
this is where you design something in inkscape and edit it to the correct size and things then learn how to print it
3. computer-controlled cutting – 1 week
this is where we use the laser cutter to cut out our designs and we learn how to save things in order to get it to the right computer and size it for the right printing size
4. electronics design and production – 2 weeks
this involves design and creation, you make instruments and sonic designs.
5. computer-controlled machining – 1 week
you use a shopbot to make and create things.
6. embedded programming – 1 week
using data sheets and online programming, one can create microchips
7. 3D molding and casting – 1 week
using the sketch up app, one can create 3D figures.
8. collaborative technical development and project management – 1 week
using many different digital platforms you can create a final project using different surfaces.
9. 3D scanning and printing – 1 week
this is using the 3D printer and the tinker cad app to create a 3D peice of plastic
10. sensors, actuators, and displays – 2 weeks
this device sends information to a chip in order to program it. frequency changes due to what is coming from the device.
11. interface and application programming – 1 week
this program uses programming and data to change the computer interface of a device.
12. embedded networking and communications – 1 week
this means to connect the computer interfaces in order to program the chip.
13. machine design – 2 weeks
this means to make a machine that will end up making your final project, you have to program the machine yourself.
14. digital fabrication applications and implications – 1 week
this means creating a project that will be used in the everyday real world.
15. invention, intellectual property, and business models – 1 week
this means to create a practical and useful idea and make it.
16. digital fabrication project development – 2 weeks
this is using all the past weeks lessons to create multi purpose creations.
