Using quantity over quality (50 lbs slide), generate several sketches of a logo that you will then use on each of the Fab Lab machines. In the next activity, you will be asked to digitize the design using 2D design software. You should apply your knowledge of Principles and Elements of Design to your logo.

Redesign your logo in Adobe Illustrator
Assignment: FAB Logo Design Part B - Design in Illustrator
Redesign your logo in Adobe Illustrator. Use all of the previous tools and techniques to create a design-friendly logo.
1a. Review the SKETCH IMPORT OPTIONS below to determine the best way to bring your sketch into Adobe Illustrator.
Pay attention to line, line weight, shapes, shade (value)
Use the Pathfinder, alignment, and arrange layer order tools.
Resize the max dimension to 3. 5 inches wide or 3 inches tall
Add contour outline / "offset path to create a boundary around the logo.
generate laser cut paths (red 0.01pt lines)
Option 1: Redraw your logo using common shapes, the shape builder tools, and manipulating Text.
Option 2: An alternative method is to trace or redraw the image using Illustrator tools, lines, and shapes. Tip: Move the sketch to the bottom layer and draw on the next layer above it. Then hide your bottom sketch layer.
Option 3: Digital Import and VECTOR TRACE in software.
Digital import of a scan, drawing, or internet graphic.
Using a high contrast (black and white) and high-quality image, create a vector graphic using the image trace function on Adobe Illustrator.
