Day 1:
The project I have decided to partake in is the creation of a planter. My goal is to create a piece that is unique from the average planter that is sold in a variety of stores. To create a unique look I plan to incorporate different geometric shapes to create interesting designs to hold a variety of plants in different ways. Here are some of my design ideas that I sketched:
Days 2, 3, & 4:
For the past few classes, I have been (trying) to construct a few of the planters that I sketched (in the photos above). Although, as I went on constructing, I started to become uninterested in the ideas that I had come up with in the past class. Therefore, I took the recommendation, of Mr. D, and started putting different shapes together to gather some inspiration.
My construction does not look that appealing, but it did provide me with an idea for what my final product will resemble.
Day 5:
Today I just started planning out how I will execute my design by forming shapes and a layout in Inkscape. Tomorrow I should be able to cut out my first draft.
Day 6:
Finally got the opportunity to print a cardboard version of the planter. Everything turned out well, but Mr. D told me to make the planter a little bigger.

Day 7:
Spent all of the class increasing the dimensions of the design.
Day 8:
Finally got to cut the final draft, but there were problems concerning the laser cutter and would not could the shape all the through the wood. I came up with the solution to fix all the pieces to match the one with the printing malfunction.
Day 9:
Gluing and finished product!!!
