Letter F
I'm making the letter 'F' in the project that will end up being in the word FABLAB, and it will be put on the wall.
Here is the cardboard cut out of the F. I didn't cut out a top because I didn't want to use up the cardboard when I don't actually need it to be able to see if my sides fit. The pieces on all the sides of the F are the right size, but if I want to be able to glue all of them onto the letter, then they need to be made just a little bit smaller. So next, will make small adjustments to those pieces so they can all fit when glued together.
This is the F once the sides are glued together. With the way that it was glued, there is a border around the F that's about 1/2 an inch tall. It makes it look better.
After going back to Inkscape, I found that the only thing that needed fixing was the sides of the F. So I adjusted their size so they would fit perfectly when put together. For some sides, I had to add or subtract .25 because of the thickness of the wood, and other sides I could leave the same. I labeled each side with a letter, so I don't mix up sides when putting together the next F I print out.
I added little circles that formed a smaller F inside the larger F. These circles will be cut out, so the light will shine through brighter.
This is the final version of my letter. The letter F on it with no designs on it will be the bottom piece, the aligned rectangles are all the sides and pieces that will be glued along the top of the F. They are aligned this way because I wanted to get them ready to print, so I arranged them in a way that would use up the least amount of room. And lastly, the letter F with the designs on it will be the acrylic piece. I had a lot of different possible designs to cut into the acrylic F, but I thought this one was the best. I haven't cut this final work out yet, but I have checked all the measurements plenty of times and everything should fit well.

Final Wood and Acrylic Cut (before spray painting wood and putting it together)
This is the final letter. The wood was spray painted black, and then I stuck the acrylic F into the back of the wood cut. I had to shave off part of the corner on the acrylic piece, but then it fit perfectly fine. I also hot glued a few pieces of the wood cut just to reinforce it and make sure that nothing would come apart.

Phone Stand
This is the final project that I cut out. The only hard parts were making sure that the slit for the back part to go through was the right size, and than the slits on the side for the 'arms' would fit. But making them 1/8 worked.

Final Post (Color Wheel)
I learned a lot about color theory, and it was fun to do splatter painting.
