`When Mr.D told us that we had to make another phone stand I was a little annoye333d because I had just made one and I really didn't feel like making another one. Nonetheless, I started my file and the dimensions we were allowed to use was 8"x 3". I had trouble deciding on a design for another phone stand because everyone already took ideas that I had. Finally, I decided on a design. My design was a rocket ship.
I tried to make my phone stand look as much like this as I could. it ended up looking like this. I made some changes to the design
I changed the design to this from this:
I realized that the backing was too wide to fit in the required space so I had to shrink it. I also took the holders into consideration with space. I originally made all of the holders the same size. then to save even more space, I made the older to support the back a little smaller to the back would be at an angle instead of being straight up. The final product truend out well and the phone stays on the stand both ways horizontal and vertical.
I also started working on my B for the "Fab Lab" sign. At first, I didn't know how I was going to give the border but then I remembered a printing technique called kerfing. A kerf is basically a piece of wood that is cut in a certain way that allows it to bend. I did some rough measurements with some thread and I wrapped in around the curving part of the B. I figured out the length of the curve parts and when to curve them. I eventually came up with a file that looked like this:
