Today I started my file on Inkscape because I had sketched (Pictured Below) out and figured out the design I wanted to make. I am going to make it so that it is almost like a bridge and it will also have a Compartment under it that can store anything you need like pencils or sticky notes, etc (this is something that I was unable to actually get to.) I am also going to use a kerf so that it is able to stay up and there will be a support bar in order to keep the kerf bend up.

Today I was able to improve upon and get ready to print the card board prototype. I was able to improve on the bar that goes under the stand. I am still thinking about the compartment that slides out from under it but I think I am just going to make a box and make a smaller box to go inside it and of which then slides out to create a drawer. I am going to print the prototype the next chance I get.

I was able to print out the cardboard prototype but it was too wobbly. Need more support. I think that it would be more sturdy just because of the fact that it is wood which is sturdier than cardboard anyway. I am thinking of instead of having just one bar, having three.

I redesigned my wood final in order to make it work correctly in Inkscape. I made three holes now for three bars instead of just one so that it holds up the computer. It also should hold the computer up better and be stronger because it will be wood and not cardboard.

I made the final adjustments to my prototype and am still waiting to print. If this does not work then I am going to have to think about my design again It did work and I reprinted the cardboard prototype so now I am moving on to wood.

Today is the final day that we have to finish our project. I have finished mine and it works pretty well. I would make some more adjustments if I had the time and maybe add some things but it is due today. Specifically, I would take a piece of material like card stock or cardboard and glue that under the Kerf so that the kerf stays put even better. Also if the glue does not keep it sturdy enough then I would redesign the support bars in order to keep it sturdier then it is. Also I would want to add some rubber on the part that touches the surface so that when it is on the surface it stays still and does not slide around. The rubber could also be used as padding for putting it on your legs.

My wood project that I thought was done snapped on the kerf today so I have to re create the support bars to give it more support so I am going to print that the next chance I get.
