We read the story, asking lots of questions about what the children can see, the attitude of the boys, etc.
As an activity, students are given an A4 paper with the house copied at the top. I have cut the door and windows with a sharp blade so they open. Students fold the paper in half, mark roughly where their windows and door opens and then draw their monsters.
When they fold their paper to create their house, they love seeing their monsters peeking out :)
