This National Award recognises and honours an Australian Teacher Librarian who has made an outstanding contribution to the profession of school librarianship. Through their high level of achievement in professional knowledge, professional practice and professional engagement they have had a positive impact on teaching and learning in their school.
ASLA has introduced two new awards for 2022:
ALIA offers a range of awards, grants and scholarships that celebrate the achievements of its members.
The Association recognises, through the conferring of awards, the professional leadership, vision, innovation, publications, research and collaboration of its members and those whose work influences the development of literacy, and in particular, information, digital, critical and creative literacy.
SLANSW awards include the:
JEAN ARNOT MEMORIAL FELLOWSHIP
The fellowship is awarded annually to a female librarian or female student of librarianship for an outstanding original paper of no more than 5000 words on any aspect of librarianship.
The Dromkeen Librarian's Award is presented annually to an Australian teacher, teacher librarian or children's and youth services personnel in a library setting, in recognition of the important role they play in introducing young people to literature and encouraging an enjoyment and love of reading.

An annual award to encourage an exceptional school teacher-librarian and recognise an outstanding contribution to teacher-librarianship.
WA Library Technician of the Year
This award recognises and honours an exceptional Library Technician in a school setting whose professional practice has a positive impact on the service provided by their school library.
WA Library Officer of the Year
This award recognises and honours an exceptional Library Officer in a school setting whose practice has a positive impact on the service provided by their school library.
WA School Library of the Year
This award recognises and honours an exceptional school library teams in a school setting whose professional practice as team has a positive impact on student achievement and information literacy.
WA Teacher Librarian of the Year
This award recognises and honours an exceptional Teacher Librarian in a school setting whose professional practice has a positive impact on student achievement and information literacy.
Honorary Life Member
Presented to members in recognition and appreciation of their continual service to WASLA, school libraries and the Library and Information Service profession at both a state and national level.
