I've printed the letters of Simultaneous Story Time and layering with leaves.  I challenge myself to have a different activity competition for each grade. All entries get a raffle ticket and winners get a book to keep.

Our school family tree in progress. Each child wrote their family members names on a leaf and added it to our tree.

Connections could be (without seeing the text though)

1. Family tree of the school location age, previous use & connection to indigenous name & indigenous history of the land the school sits on.

2. Unpacking the illustrations, Australian animals /flora/ fauna & connections to where the story is /could be set

3. Unpacking the title and connections to illustrations selected

4. Connecting to own family tree/ what it is? Connections to the past? Informing the future?

5. Opportunities for family members in own family “tree” to share the text or own text that is important in own family history

6. Have viewing of this text in evening or simultaneously on weekend so members of family can be invited to join and share together

7. Explore other family trees in nature & animal world
