Mamie by Tania McCartney about May Gibbs. Have a tin of bush items, gumnuts, banksia etc. Gumnut babies soft toys if you have them. Go to the May Gibbs website and play the audio bush sounds throughout the reading and lesson. Download the finger puppet template from this site. Have students role play with each other when they finish the puppets. Great lesson for encouraging students to find story inspiration from ordinary objects.
