Lesson 30: Graphic Design

Objective: To have the children create a design that uses variety to show an appealing composition.

Vocabulary:

graphic art - A kind of artwork that can be used over and over in products, advertisements, and signs.

variety - A design principle used to add interest to an artwork by using many different objects and art elements (line, shape, color, form, etc...).

Graphic Art

Most paintings and sculptures must be viewed in museums or art galleries. Graphic arts, such as advertisements, can be viewed almost anywhere. Artists create images that can be printed over and over in magazines, on posters, billboards, and television.
