found-object - A common or everyday object used in new ways as part of an artwork. Found objects are often used in assemblages and can be natural or manufactured.
Look at Bird Tree by Unknown Artist. How are the birds in the artwork different from real birds? What did the artist do to make the birds look real?

Glue, Found-Objects (wood scraps, clean empty food and drink containers, small boxes, natural objects, nuts and bolts, foil, fabric scraps, paper tubes, etc...), Crayons or Markers
View found-object sculptures, junkyard sculptures, and assemblages. Think about what animal you would like to create. Gather found-objects.
Check list:
- Gather found-objects.
- Assemble found-objects to create an animal.
Look at the found-objects you have gathered and brainstorm or discuss what animals or body parts could be made from them.
Glue found objects together to make animals.
Once the animals body is assembled, glue or draw on eyes.
Use crayons or markers to add details.
Create an animal made entirely out of natural items including feathers, nut shells, pebbles, sticks, twine, and leaves.
