Interior with Red Apples by Louise Freshman-Brown above is a photomontage. A photomontage is made by cutting out parts of different photographs and arranging them in an interesting way. Look carefully at Interior with Red Apples. What kinds of objects do you see?
The artist of this photomontage used photographs with many different patterns. The repeating lines, colors, and shapes in the patterns give the artwork rhythm. How do your eyes move around the artwork? Do the contrasting patterns in this artwork give you a peaceful feeling or a restless feeling?
