No Reason to Speed Lab

Here is the lab handout: Lab-NoReasonToSpeed.docx

Data:

•Pick a route you ride or drive

•Should have about 4-5 different speed limits or segments

•For each segment, record:

•Length of segment in miles and tenths

•Speed Limit in mph (Use Google Maps – Directions)

For example, my trip to school is about like this:

Street Length Speed

Caldew/35th 0.2 25

Capital Hwy 0.8 35

I-5 12 55

Boones Ferry 1.5 40

Boones Ferry 0.2 20

Here is a video that shows you how to do the lab using an Excel spreadsheet. (I use the Mac 2008 version, but pretty much every spreadsheet is the same for what we are doing in this lab. You could use Google Docs)
