Graphs of Motion ILDs

Setup: With the support legs 25 inches apart (63.5 cm) I found that for the inclined ones 3,4,6,7 it was perfect to use three Masonite whiteboards as the incline creator. For 5 and 8 where it has to go out and back, I used 6 Masonite boards so it could get it done.

The Procedure for the ILDs will be the same:

  1. The instructor describes the demonstration and does it for the class without measurements displayed.

  2. The students are asked to record their individual predictions on a Prediction Sheet. (In the left hand column) (Your prediction sheet is attached to this assignment - turn it in when you are done - it is not graded on the basis of correctness of predictions)

  3. The students engage in small group discussions with their quadpods about the predictions to come up with a group prediction on the group slides.

  4. The instructor elicits common student predictions from the whole class.

  5. The students record their final predictions on their own Prediction Sheet. (The middle column)

  6. The instructor carries out the demonstration with measurements displayed.

  7. A few students describe the results and discuss them in the context of the demonstration. Students fill the Results sections of their prediction sheet. (The right hand column)

Have these 2 tabs open:

  1. Your personal prediction sheet (linked below)

  2. Your breakout room's slideshow (Linked on the Quad-Pods page)

To put your graph shapes on your slides, you can use the line tool. I recommend either the straight line (If you think it should be a straight line) or the curve line.

To use the curve line, outline where the curve should be by clicking along the path of the line. Double click the final dot.

There is also a scribble that works, but I find the curve line makes better curves, unless you have a stylus and a pen tablet.
