Time Off/Leave & Workers' Compensation

Taking Time Off

As a permanent employee, you are eligible for several different types of leave. However, regular attendance and punctuality are an essential part of each state job. Use your leave responsibly. Follow your supervisor’s protocol for requesting leave and reporting absences. Any leave should be requested as far in advance as possible. Your supervisor will determine the type of leave to be used. Unauthorized use of any leave may result in the denial of paid leave and/or corrective or disciplinary action.

Workers' Compensation/Risk Management

DNR’s HR Team is responsible for administering the state's liability, workers' compensation, and property programs.  provides services for DNR employees to effectively manage risk in all three of these areas.
