BUDGET

DNR's Budget Office is responsible for creating and submitting an annual budget request each fiscal year for the Department.  In addition to providing operating and capital budget requests to the Governor’s office and the Joint Budget Committee each year, our office also provides the following services: 

• Monitoring Department revenues, including severance tax revenue;

• Developing a defensible budget within revenue constraints;

• Developing proposals for new legislation, especially as they relate to the Department's finances;

• Tracking legislation and monitoring the legislative budget process;

• Monitoring budget implementation, anticipating issues, and developing solutions; and 

• Providing accurate and concise information to the public, the media, the Governor's Office, and the General Assembly.
