Message from Dan Gibbs, DNR Executive Director


Dear DNR Family,


Weaving Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) into everything we do as an organization has been - and continues to be - a top priority for DNR. 


Equity is about creating systems where everyone can thrive.


Diversity includes all of us, it is about honoring the richness of differences and the unique strengths we bring.


Inclusion is about removing barriers to leverage our unique abilities, talents, and strengths and to create a workplace environment where everyone feels welcome.


So many of you, in every Division, have contributed to this goal. You cultivate meaningful connections to our local communities and partners; provide transparency and accessibility to the public we serve; and work to examine and update our policies, systems and practices through an equity lens. We still have much work to do as a Department to ensure our workforce reflects Colorado’s population, our programs reflect Colorado’s rich cultural heritage, and we forge meaningful community partnerships to conserve Colorado’s natural resources for people today and tomorrow.


I urge all of us to think about the role we play in our own communities and workplaces, and how we can weave EDI into our everyday work.

Training Opportunities

DNR is committed to providing a variety of training opportunities related to EDI principles.  We are currently undergoing a modernization effort with our learning platform and expect to have exciting new options by the end of the fiscal 23-24 year.

Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Training for FY 23-24

The State of Colorado will be providing a single module for the current fiscal year related to EDI principles.  This module will be released later in the fiscal year and DNR will offer it via the LMS.
