Dear Maureen, I’m Pete Baklinski and this is your Canadian Pro-Life News Bits where I let you know what’s happening on our country’s pro-life and pro-family front.

Canada’s top pro-life researcher Patricia Maloney has reported on the number of late-term abortions for 2022-23. The number has climbed from the previous year. Some of these babies are being aborted at 29+ weeks. Every abortion is a tragedy. Many Canadians who call themselves pro-choice would not agree with abortions that take place after the baby is viable. But, in our country, abortion is permitted throughout all nine months of pregnancy. May God help us to bring an end to this holocaust.

The Conservative Party is pushing back against the Liberal’s decision to force businesses applying for the Canada Summer Jobs Program to first tick a box stating that they support abortion and various sexual ideologies. It’s this attestation that has made it impossible for CLC to make use of this program to help pay wages for our summer interns. That’s why we are so grateful for your support in helping us hire and pay summer interns. Mr. Trudeau wants to throttle pro-life organizations like ours, but you make it possible for us to continue. Thank you!

The Catholic Register is running a thorough investigation into the Canadian-based group Women on Web which claims to peddle abortion pills around the globe. Health Canada appears to be providing some kind of cover for the group. There are so many questions about what this group actually does and why it is allowed to operate in Canada.

Maureen, earlier this month I shared the devastating news about the huge spike in abortions happening in our country.

Numbers from the Canadian Institute for Health Information (CIHI) show an increase in abortions by almost 10,000 when compared to the previous year. In 2021 there were some 87,000 babies killed. In 2022 there were some 97,000. And this increase is underreported. The Ontario Ministry of Health and Long Term Care reported for 2022 an additional 9,361 abortions when compared to the CIHI numbers for the province in the same year.

What this means is that, however you look at it, the number of abortions is increasing at an alarming rate. This sudden increase has happened after our country has been experiencing a steady decline in the number of abortions since 2007, when there were 115,556 reported abortions, compared to 2021, when that number had dropped to 87,485.

Who or what is responsible for the increase we are now seeing?

I put the blame squarely on the shoulders of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

The increase in abortions comes in the wake of Trudeau’s investment of millions of dollars into Canada’s abortion groups to aid them in expanding access to abortion.

In 2021, the Liberals gave $45 million to pro-abortion organizations that “help make sexual and reproductive health care information and services more accessible,” including “providing travel and logistical support to individuals who have to go long distances to access abortion care.”

Groups that received some of this money included Action Canada for Sexual Health and Rights and the National Abortion Federation Canada.

The result?

Tens of thousands of additional dead babies.

Liberal MP Yasir Naqvi, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Health, recently boasted in the House about the success of Mr. Trudeau’s promotion of abortion.

“To further improve nation-wide access to sexual and reproductive health care, including abortion, Health Canada’s Sexual and Reproductive Health Fund was created. Through Budget 2021 and 2023, $81 million has been committed to the fund over six years. The fund supports community-based organizations that help make access to abortion…more accessible,” he said.

This is blood money.

Pouring all this money into abortion groups has resulted in thousands more dead babies annually.

Mr. Trudeau has done this. He is responsible for this. He has the blood of these babies on his hands.

This man is the most pro-abortion Prime Minister in the history of our country. Now you know why.

Please pray that he repents of this evil.

We in the pro-life movement have our work cut out for us to reach abortion-vulnerable women. Abortion is never the answer.

We in the pro-life movement have something to give abortion-minded women that Mr. Trudeau with his millions will never be able to give them. We give them love that leads mother and her baby to a better place and we give them hope that there’s always a way forward no matter the difficulty.
