40 Days for Life - Ottawa ON Canada - September - 28 to November 6, 2022
Plans have begun for the 2022 Fall 40 Days for Life campaign. This year the campaign lasts from September 28 to November 6. As in previous years, we plan to hold an outdoor prayer vigil as near as possible to Ottawa’s only freestanding abortion facility (located at 65 Bank Street). We’ll be gathering at the southwest corner of Queen and Bank streets. This is the 50 meters distance that we are permitted, by law, to stand.
If you would like to help us with the organizing plans, please let me know. New ideas are always welcome.
Something I came across recently is an audio podcast about the case of the notorious abortionist, Kermit Gosnell. This is a very revealing series done by investigating journalist, Anna Phalen Maclehenney, who gives a detailed account of the story of this convicted (abortion) serial killer. During the Winter/Spring campaign a group of Toronto vigilers decided to do some serious fasting during the 40 days. Some of them actually lived on bread and water for the 40-day period. And they got results. I met one of the ladies who fasted and she said that they know of 11 babies who were saved from being aborted due to fasting. We can’t all fast for 40 days on bread and water, but let’s make a real effort to persist in our fasting and prayers for the little ones during the Fall campaign.
Another good preparation for the campaign is to pray to St. Michael for the 40 days leading up to the start of the campaign, beginning in August. 19th:
St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray, and do thou, O Prince of the heavenly hosts, by the power of God, cast into hell, satan and all evil spirits who prowl about the earth seeking the ruin of souls. Amen

- There will be no mid-point rally - closing rally on Sunday, November 6 at 6:00 pm at the vigil site.
The 40 Days for Life campaign this year has been off to a slow start. Still, headquarters has reported, 75 babies’ lives have been saved since September 28th.
This year we will forgo the mid-point rally in Ottawa and the next rally will be our closing rally on Sunday, November 6 at 6:00 pm at the vigil site.
We’re off to a slow start, but churches and ministries groups have begun to take on vigil days. Please join them if you have a spare hour.
There is a long gap, with no committed vigil days from October 31 to November 4. If your church or ministry group has not yet decided on a vigil day, one of those days would be ideal.
Let’s keep up the momentum and continue to pray, fast and offer our sacrifices for the unborn.
