Summary of the Fall 2010 40 Days for Life Campaign
October 31st: Closing Rally
· 6:00 pm at Ground Zero
(across from 65 Bank Street) Hymns, music & great speakers – Ruth Lobo, Doris Gagnon & others.
· Followed by candlelight procession from Ground Zero to Saint Patrick’s Basilica.
7:00 Vespers Service at Saint Patrick’s Basilica presided by Archbishop Terrence Prendergast, followed by a reception.
Mid-Point Rally on Thursday October 14th starting at 7:00 PM at Ground Zero (across from 65 Bank Street)…

40 Days for Life inaugural Mass and rally
The 40 Days for Life campaign was launched Tuesday September 21st (Feast of St. Mathew) with an uplifting Mass at Saint Patrick’s Basilica with close to 300 faithful present. Fr. Richard Siok, Rector of the Basilica, gave a reflective homily. He offered insights into the relevance of Christ’s words to the Pharisees “I desire mercy, not sacrifice” to the Pro-life cause. He also presented practical advice on how to argue against pro-abortion advocates from a human-rights perspective.
The Mass was followed by a candlelight procession and rally to Bank Street in front of the abortion mill…
The Archbishop’s Example
Archbishop Prendergast gave all Catholics an example of involvement in the 40 Days for Life Campaign. In his blog entry during the fall 2009 campaign, he stated” Many different projects characterize the life of God's people in Ottawa. One of those that is an extraordinary witness to Christians embracing a culture of life is witnessing to life publicly, outside most people's comfort zone….One such occasion is the "40 Days for Life"

Operations Report:
a. The Crèche and Info Bin will be placed at the Ground Zero Vigil site (across from 65 Bank Street) every day. They will be delivered by Paul Lauzon from Campaign Life Coalition every morning shortly after 7:00 AM, and picked up after 7:00 PM. There is no need for people doing the Vigil between 6:00-7:00 PM to remain guarding the Bin.
