In the fall of 2008, the abortion crisis in America reached epidemic proportion as the death toll from abortion crossed the 50 million mark. But not only the fifty million children who perished were affected by abortion. Hundreds of women have died from Legal abortions, thousands have been physically wounded and countless millions have been scarred emotionally spiritually and psychologically and planned parenthood the largest abortion center chain in America aborted 289,750 children in their abortion facilities while raking in a record 336.7 million dollars in tax payer funding. In response to this massive problem 179 cities across North America across 47 states and 2 Canadian Provinces one Americain Territory iand the District of Columbia joined together for the largest and longest pro life mobilization in history: The Fall 2008 40 Days for Life Campaign.

Determined to be part of the solution more than 76 thousand people of faith and conscience united across North America for 40 days of intense prayer and fasting for an end to abortion, 40 Days of peaceful vigil outside local abortion centers and 40 days of grass roots educational outreach. For thirty five percent of these people 40 days for life was the first pro-life activity they had ever actively participated in and 92 percent of participants reported that they had experience spiritual and personal growth as a result of their involvement in 40 days for life. Over twenty eight hundred church congregations that crossed denominational lines joined in this unprecedented effort bringing people together who may not see eye to eye on Theological issues but who could stand arm in arm unified in their commitment to speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves. The results of the fall 2008 Forty Days for Life Campaign were simply staggering. Millions of people were educated about the tragic injustice of abortion. Well over one hundred news stories were generated. Christian Pregnancy Resource Centers reported significant increases in the number of clients coming to them for help. Reports poured in from across North America from women and men who began post abortion healing programs to find forgiveness and restoration following their past abortion experiences. Dozens of abortion facilities cut back their hours and days of business during the campaign and 8 abortion workers quit their jobs and left the abortion industry. One abortion center in California where the 40 days for Life Campaign was conducted announced on day 38 of the 40 days for life campaign that it was closing its doors and shutting down for good. And reports from across North America documented 614 children spared from abortion due to 40 Days for Life that also means 614 mothers who were spared from a lifetime of regrets. Another benefit that came about for 40 Days for life was the renewed sense of hope among the Body of Christ in these 179 communities. After the frustrations of more than 45 years of legalized abortion many people finally begin to recognize that with God all things are possible even ending this grave evil. None of the results accomplished during the fall 2008 40 Days for Life campaign were due to any election, any candidate for office, any elected official, any state legislator any judge, any lobbyist any court, or any law. All of these results were do to the mercy of God Almighty and the faithfulness of His people who took seriously the call to rescue those being led away to the slaughter.

As much as was accomplished during the fall 2008 40 days for life campaign a tremendous amount of work remains to be done. Children continue to perish and women and men continue to be harmed by abortion every single day. After the conclusion of the fall 40 Days for Life campaign, six thousand one hundred ninety four people filled out an in depth survey with important input onwhere this unified effort needs to go from here. In light of the devastating national and state elections in America that make local pro life efforts more important than ever ninety nine percent of the respondents said that it was important to expand this effort right now. With a clear mandate that has been given two things became crystal clear from the feedback which poured in from all across the globe. First the two co-ordinated forty days for life campaigns scheduled for 2009, one in the spring and one in the fall, will be gigantic initiatives requiring a scaling up effort on the part of the national 40 Days for life team: and second a tremendous need has been expressed to build on the momentum following a forty days for life in a given community. Tools, training and strategies with proven results are needed to educate equip and empower people at the local level to establish or grow pro life efforts than can fight the good fight over the long haul. These are enormous opportunities but so are the daunting challenges we will have to face together to finish this work that has begun all across our land. With that in mind you are invited to participate in the live tele-conference and web simulcast event that will reveal for the first time the specific plans for the next phaze of this growing effort in 2009 and how you can make a life saving impact .
