Your computer may fail to recognize your Lexmark printer. It is a common problem, and the primary cause is often a missing or corrupted driver. Getting the correct updated driver for the printer is the solution.
Follow these steps to download the Lexmark printer drivers successfully:
Open your web browser on your Windows computer.
In the search field, type “your model name printer driver.”
You’ll see the official Lexmark support page at the top of the search results. Click on it.
On the website, click on the “Drivers & downloads” option.
Next, click the “Download Driver Package” in green.
The Confirm Download pop-up will appear. Click on the “Start Download” option. Downloading will start here.
From the Download folder, click on the downloaded file.
Now that you have downloaded the driver file, it’s time to install it. Here are the steps to install the driver file correctly:
Click on the downloaded file
Select “Yes” to allow the application to make changes.
In the window that appears, click “Start.”
Next, you have to agree to the License agreement. Click on the “Accept” option.
The two methods (Wi-Fi/Ethernet and USB) will be displayed. Choose your preferred option, then click Next.
Select your printer name, then click “Next.”
From here, the installation will begin.
Let the installation complete.
Once it is complete, click on the “Finish” button.
Make sure you create a System Restore Point before starting the driver installation. This is a backup in case you go wrong anywhere.
