The Canon printer going offline can really disrupt your daily tasks. You have a bunch of documents to print, and now you are stuck midway with frustration.
Why is this problem occurring? There may be a connection issue, a stuck print queue, or outdated printer drivers. Here are some fixes to resolve the Canon Printer offline issue:
Set the Printer as Default
A default printer is the printer your computer automatically uses to print documents when you hit the Print button. If the printer is not set as the default, there may be an offline issue. Follow the steps below to set it as the default device:
Press the Windows Start button.
Search for “Printers & Scanners” in the search bar.
Click on “Printers & Scanners” from the results, and see if the “Let Windows manage my default printer” is disabled in the printer preferences.
Select your printer, and click on the “Set as default” option.
Unselect “Use Printer Offline” Mode
On your computer, if the “Use Printer Offline” mode is checked, the printer may go offline. To turn it off, follow these steps:
Click on the Windows Start button, type “Control Panel” in the search bar, and open it.
Go to “Hardware and Sound” or “Devices and Printers.”
Find your Canon printer, and right-click on it.
Select “See what’s printing” from the menu.
Click the “Printer” option in the print queue at the top, and uncheck “Use Printer Offline” if it’s checked.
