The all-new HP printer has finally arrived at your doorstep. But there’s one thing you need to learn to print wirelessly from your new printer: make sure it is connected to your WiFi network. That’s quite simple, but if you find it confusing, do as mentioned here:
Install HP Smart App
Go to start.hp.com or search for the HP Smart app in your device’s app store.
Install the app on your device (phone, laptop, tablet).
Power on your printer.
Press and hold the Wireless button for about 5 seconds until the wireless light starts blinking blue. This means the printer is ready to connect to WiFi.
Launch the app and sign in or create an HP account
Tap “Set Up a New Printer.”The app will automatically search for available printers.
Choose your home WiFi network from the list. If you see both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz networks, select the 2.4 GHz network because most HP printers work only with 2.4 GHz WiFi.
Type your WiFi password and tap Continue. Wait for the printer to connect.
Once connected, follow the prompts to finish the installation.
Connect via Wireless Setup Wizard
On your HP printer screen, tap the Settings or Wireless icon.
Go to Network > Wireless Setup Wizard or Setup > Wireless Settings.
Tap Wireless Setup Wizard, then let the printer scan for nearby WiFi networks.
Wait a few seconds for the network list to appear.
Select your WiFi network from the list.
If you see both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz networks, choose the 2.4 GHz network for a more stable printer connection.
Use the printer’s on-screen keyboard to type your WiFi password carefully.
Tap OK, Done, or Connect.
The printer will now try to connect to WiFi. If the wireless light turns solid, it means your printer is successfully connected.
Connect via WPS Push Button
Look for a button labeled WPS on the back or side of the WiFi router.
Turn on your printer and place it near the router.
Press and hold the Wireless button until the wireless light starts blinking.
Within a minute or two, then press the WPS button on your router.
The router and printer will automatically connect without needing the WiFi password.
Wait for some moments for the connection to establish.
Once the wireless light on the printer becomes steady, the setup is complete.
The printer is now connected to WiFi and ready to print wirelessly.
