When you pressed the print button on your Epson P900 to do your daily print tasks, it didn’t respond. There was no hum; only silence, and an error message displayed on the printer’s display panel stating “Firmware Update Required.”
Epson printer provides regular firmware updates that are essential for the device to run smoothly. These updates include security patches and fix bugs. So, if you haven’t already done so, you need to update the firmware. It may take just a few steps, but before you begin, ensure that your printer is connected properly to a stable power outlet. Confirm that your PC and printer are connected to a stable network. Don’t forget to create a backup of your existing firmware- restoring the old version is important in case the new update causes problems.
Start by opening your web browser on your PC and going to the official Epson website. Once you’re there, navigate to the Epson Software Updater and click the “download it here” option. Click the Download button according to your device’s operating system. After that, save the file and select the “Save” button. Once the downloading is done, navigate to the downloaded file and right-click on it. Select Run as administrator. Tick the box next to “Agree” and click on OK. The Epson Software Update window will open, and from there, you must select your product series. Select Firmware Updater, uncheck all other options, and click “Install Items.”
