It is common to face problems with printing on your printer. It is a common problem and can appear as a result of several minor/major technical problems. If you want to resolve the “not printing” problem in your Canon iX6820 printer, then follow-ups are the best possible solutions you can try.
Solution 1: Print a Nozzle Check
At start, press and hold down the resume button on the printer for 2 seconds.
Now, wait for the printer for a few seconds, and it will print a nozzle test pattern.
Then, inspect the printed pattern and see if the print head requires cleaning.
See if the problem is gone.
Solution 2: Delete Pending Print Job
Choose the search icon in the device taskbar, then search for the open Printers & Scanners.
Go to your Canon printer, then select the Open Print Queue option.
After that, right-click on the print job and select Cancel.
Once you see a prompt, click on the Yes option to confirm and proceed.
If the problem persists, then move to the next method.
Solution 3: Check the Printer Settings
Go to the software application you are trying to print from, click on File, then select Print.
Then, select the Printer Properties option.
Inspect the paper type and make sure it matches the paper you are trying to print on.
In addition, check the print quality and make changes in the print quality as per the requirement if necessary.
Next, turn on or off Print in Grayscale depending on whether you want to print in color or black & white.
If you are ready with changes, click OK to save them.
Solution 4: Confirm the Port Settings
Initially, choose the Windows Start menu, search for the control panel, and open it.
Next, set “View by” to Large Icons and select the Devices and Printers option.
Then head to the Ports tab and make sure that the port named USBXXX is selected.
You need to reinstall the printer driver if the Port Setting is incorrect.
Now, confirm if your printer is printing without showing any issues.
