Connecting a Canon printer to WiFi can be done in so many ways. The most common one is through Wireless LAN Setup on the printer screen. This method works for most mid-range and higher Canon PIXMA, MAXIFY, and imageCLASS models. Here’s how to do it:
Press the Menu or Setup button on your printer.
Go to Device Settings > LAN Settings > Wireless LAN Setup.
Select Standard Setup.
The printer will scan nearby WiFi networks. Select your home or office network SSID.
Enter your WiFi password using the on-screen keyboard. Canon’s touchscreens let you switch between lowercase, uppercase, and symbols. Double-check before you confirm because a single typo error means starting over.
Press OK or Connect. The printer takes 20 to 30 seconds to connect to the network.
Once connected, the WiFi indicator light on the printer will turn solid.
If you are a mobile user and want to connect your Canon printer to WiFi, you can try using the Canon PRINT Inkjet/SELPHY app. First, download the app on your Android or iOS device, and then follow these instructions:
Check that your device is connected to the WiFi you want the printer on.
Open the app, then tap the plus icon.
Tap on the “Add Printer” option.
The app will detect your printer model. If it doesn't show up, select Set Up Printer on This Network.
Follow the in-app prompts. Depending on your printer model, the app may transfer your WiFi settings to the printer using Bluetooth or a temporary direct wireless connection.
Once the setup is complete, print a test page to verify that the printer is successfully connected.
