Mutation
This mutation is not hereditary and occurs randomly through breeding.
Albinism is a random mutation that alters the pigment development of the fawn born with it. Albinism effects the animal's entire body, turning the skin pink and coat white.
Albinism affects the Rukaan's entire body. The Rukaan will show no markings, as they will not produce pigment.
An albino may still show track marks, as these are due to a stain on the skin and not pigment.
Albino Rukaan must be white or very slightly cream in color.
This mutation lightens the skin to pink over the entire Rukaan. See the flesh color guide.
The Rukaan's eyes will be pink, red or pale purple.
Effect on Metal and Gemstone elements: None
Effect on Ancient element: Causes white or bone-colored hooves and antlers. See elements guide.
Color Modifiers
Pearl changes the structure of the hair, and can still cause some shine on an albino Rukaan.
Olive can cause an albino Rukaan's hair to take a very very slight mossy tinge.
Blue can cause an albino Rukaan's hair to take a very slight grey-blue tinge.
Wine can cause an albino Rukaan's hair to take a very slight lilac tinge.
Champagne can cause an albino Rukaan's hair to take a very slight golden tinge.
Albino on Tinted Black Accents
Tint will cause one of the Rukaan's other markings to be slightly visible on the Rukaan (off-white or cream). The tinted visible marking can be effected by marking modifiers if the Rukaan has any that would affect the marking.
Belton would cause holes in tinted white markings
Mismark can affect any tinted marking that it normally acts on, but cannot express in a way that changes the marking color. The marking color would remain off-white or cream.
Track Marks can show on albino as these are not caused by pigment in the fur.
No other markings are visible on albino Rukaan.
Albinism occurs in many hoofed species.
