Marking Type: Normal Marking
Rarity: Uncommon
Fawn is a natural marking on the Rukaan's back that creates an areas of a symmetrical lighter stripe markings or horizontal rows of spots that lay parallel to the spine of the Rukaan.
Fawn can create extensive stripes/spots that can cover most of the body and part of the neck itself. It may break into smaller stripes and spots, but should never be randomly placed and always follows lines along the body. At minimum the marking will create one line of markings that covers half the length of the body OR cover most of the hip and haunces.
Above are the minimum ranges for this marking. Fawn must cover at least the entirety of either one of the minimum ranges shown above.
Shown above is the maximum range for the marking. Marking can cover this entire range.
Typical Expressions of Fawn
Fawn expresses as one contiguous area of stripes and/or spots. They do not have to be densely placed, but there should not be isolated patches of stripes and spots that are distinctly seperate from the main marking.
Fawn may display as a hard or soft edged marking. It should occur in rows and not be mistaken for wilde, okapi, snowflake appaloosa or scorch marks.
Fawn must always be lighter than the markings it sits over and should never be more saturated in color than the base coat. It can be white, creamy or a lighter version of the base coat. It can be very pale or only slightly lighter than what it sits above.
Please note that layer effects (such as screen, soft light, overlay, etc) in image editing software may change the saturation or color of your markings. If you are using non-standard layers, please check your saturation and hue before submitting to make sure they are consistent with the design guides.
