the writer actually writes their own critical stuff like serious that actually is also like a critic as well and writes about the kind of things shes looking at in the text which is quite helpful by this stage Ill kind of move on to planning so Ive already kind of started collating the content for the essay so at this point its just about kind of moving it into a plan so how I like to kind of plan and like structure my essays is just have sections I have like intro paraone or like section 1 section 2 section 3 and then conclusion those will be like kind of my subheadings obviously I dont write those headings in the essay but those are like the sections the structure Im going to be following and then Ill start just kind of organizing the content Ive like picked up into those sections so intro oh no actually I feel like this critic would be a good person to have in my intro because I feel like I can kind of bounce off of this critic will say this critics talks about this but I disagree with this a bit so Im going to talk about this oh I can use this quote about identity I can define this in the introduction so Ill put like bullet points of what I think should go under each section so any quotes from the primary source Ill put underneath section one if I feel like I can like I have quick analysis points out theres a metaphor here remember to expand on that and also in between the sections I like to have write good essays like link as well something that I feel like whole link section 1 2 section 2 and then section 2 section 3 right so at this point after we have a plan comes the hardest for the writing its just actually getting it down into proces and actually getting the words out this is also the bit what actually sometimes the structure of the essay is can shift you know how it talked about this section like oh yeah section 1 this will be my link into then section 2 its actually the writing stage where often that shifts because as youre right writing it and youre connecting the sentences sometimes you realize well actually our flight section two should come straight after the introduction I think it should actually be section one because it just flows nicer I hope this makes sense but yeah as youre writing I think when youre connecting sentences and ideas together thats when you realize the structure its usually the point where I have to shuffle my essay around like seven times and then go crazy because Ive shuffled it around and Im like oh no actually the way it was before worked really well I had this with my last essay my dente essay it was almost an essay in two parts obviously I had it in multiple sections but it kind of had two parts and I kept kind of doing this I kept doing this I was like oh actually I think I should talk about this fast because I feel like that leads on better and then Id be like no no no no it doesnt make sense to talk about that first they need to talk about this first like and you have to obviously write good essayssometimes think about chronology its always better to structure essay by like themes or ideas and then sometimes youre so worried that the chronology is just all over the place thats probably the bit one of the things I struggle the most with how to structure it how like things shift around yeah it really really gets to me and it really just its the kind of thing that drives you mad I think its actually really important at this point to still consolidate the plan actually shift around the plan as well because the plan is like a nice guide so that you dont look lose track of your ideas so that when youre shifting around the essay you dont lose the sense of the trail youre going down so actually even though youve probably moved on from the plan and youre on maybe a separate document writing the essay I will still go back to my plan like document and still shift around the plunger so I feel like I have something that Im following close reading I talked about this in my reacting to my essay video close reading is something that I didnt realize was as important as it actually is until Ive just gotten to third year when I write good essays
