going to talk about why its important to outline before you write then were going to talk about to outlining methods the formal outline and the informal outline which is also called the mnemonic outline were going to do some examples see some outlining in action and then were going to conclude with outlining tips alright first of all why should you outline why should you take one to five precious minutes of those 25 minutes you get on the test to you know write little notes that nobody but you is ever going to see well its worth it to take a minute or two at the start of the essay period to think about the prompt and outline your response this is actually a thinking and prep period you know how you really have no time to prepare for the essay tsa because you dont know what the prompt is going to be well you can take time at the beginning of the essay period to do your prep and if youre smart you can do it quickly a good outline is like a road map it shows you where youve been and where youre going an outline keeps your essay from veering off topic remember off topic is the Kryptonite of s80 essays if you go off topic you get a zero an outline lets you arrange your hello Im Helen Bradley welcome to this video tutorial today were going to look at creating pattern stationery in Illustrator now this is an answer to a question that one of my subscribers sent to me and she wanted to know how she could create a pattern border for some stationery in Illustrator so lets see how were going to do this Ill start by clicking create new and Im going to create a document that is the actual size of the paper Im going to be using so Im going to use inches and Im going to make it eight and a half by eleven inches this is letter size if youre using a four you would set it to a four size Ill use RGB color Ill click create so we now have a document that is the size of a letter homework robotsheet of paper well add a rectangle to this so Ill click on the rectangle tool click once in the document I want one that is eight and a half wide by 11 inches tall because that is letter paper size again if youre using a four you would set this to a4 paper size make sure that this is positioned perfectly over the artboard so Im going to the align tool lets choose show options align to artboard and then Center it on the artboard now we need the shape in the middle that is going to be the area where somebody could write and what my subscriber asked for was how could they could control the size of the area in the middle well youre going to do that simply by clicking on the rectangle tool click once in the document and set it to whatever width it you want now Im thinking Im going to leave a half inch border of pattern all the way around the edge of this paper and all the rest is going to be writing so if Im allowing a half inch border all the way around thats half an inch top and bottom so I need to reduce the width and height by one inch so Im going to make it seven and a half by 10 inches and I want this to be centered on the artboard as well homework robot
