know it sounds a little bit boring to me go all out I know maybe I know what he means but again yeah shes the topic thats a little more personal to you an increase in understanding and learning to set goals thats kind of bland at the very least you should never have a sentence I mentioned this in other videos you should never have a sentence that provides the theme to the essay so maybe you have an essay that shows how you had some increase in understanding and its a great essay and then the final sentence she writes and thats thats how I learned this thing she feels like she needs that conclusion and I know why I see this because you have a lot of English teachers and they want that explicit intro they want that explicit conclusion and for certain types of papers research papers thats thats the standard its very clear what the papers going to be about at the end its very clear what it was about and that thats just a set format but if think think of your college essay is more of a very good short story a book a movie its a bad movie at the very end if you have you know fade to black and then this movie was about this this movie was about friendship and self-awareness have you ever seen that now because it doesnt its its redundant and it hurts the narrative structure if you showed the point of the movie well you dont need to tell it at the end so think of your college essay that same way one more thing I want you to avoid high school essay writing mentioning would be topics of cleaning and messiness cleanliness I see this a lot Id died I dont know I guess people are just looking around the room and thinking of things to write about and its usually messy so they talk about messiness and maybe you know and anything regarding this topics a topic Ive seen a lot it doesnt say anything about you in people you know even if youre clean the reader might think well why hes fine shes so clean and why is she writing about that kind of weird if youre really messy reader the readers gonna think why is he so messy why is he telling me hes messy in his college essay hes kind of weird so Im mentioning that at all it doesnt theres no real way to win saying that it shows something about your personality either if youre extremely clean to the point of perfection you look like a perfectionist a lot of bad words bad things associated with that in college you look like someone whos gonna maybe sabotage people you work with doesnt work well but others Ive ever been saying thats true but those are things that the reader infers if you mentioned that they are extremely clean youre a neat freak or if you mentioned that youre very messy you just the student the the reader thinks youre a slob whos not gonna contribute to campus at all so dont mention that and look at another video about what you do want to do in your in your college application this is just a start to maybe nip in the bud some things that a students ask me if high school essay writingthey should write about it so handle it take them trips in foreign countries appropriately and dont mention that you are extremely messy youre clean so stay tuned for other videos on what you should do and
