Arizona, Missouri, TN, OK, Washington, Hempstead, NE, Hawaii, District of Columbia, South Dakota, Alaska, Oregon, San Francisco, Maryland, Arizona, NY, Fresno, Miami, Ohio, Louisiana, KS, SD, PA, MO, Albuquerque, Nebraska, Tulsa, Oklahoma City, Sacramento, Indiana, MT, Tucson, Illinois, Jacksonville, Maine, Indianapolis, San Diego, IN, Massachusetts, Idaho, Portland, SC, how to write a descriptive essay solving and benefits of the plan kind of make up like the body paragraphs so youre gonna have several a couple under each one of those so its its its a longer paper so definitely know this is your steward your your structure here and Ill get more into it in the actual lesson so youre probably wondering how do you actually start this thing youre telling you a lot of things teach but youre not telling me what to do so here are the big sub big subjects that are on your assignment sheet um these are the things that you are tasked to think about at this point I want to get into the difference between subjects versus topics what you have here listed is not theyre not topics theyre subjects that means theyre big things and under these big things are smaller things and so I want to talk to you a little bit about that and kind of how that looks like so the subject is a big picture so think the universe universe is all-encompassing right everything is the universe in theory so thats the big thing the universe is the big subject and the topic is essentially the planets the Stars the moon the Sun being a big star different types the red dwarfs Milky Way being galaxies so those are smaller things so what you really need to think about is these things that we talked about earlier these things here these are subjects they are not topics under the top under the subjects or topic so I gave us I gave an example here candy being a subject right theres lots of different to candy theres different candy each how to write a descriptive essay country has their own kind of candy if if youre into World candy you know Mexican candy is way different than American candy which is way different from Canadian candy which is way different from English candy right so we pick something in that subject which is gummy bears I always like to pick so many bears because I enjoy the gum use and so gummy bears is my topic so youre probably wondering what this actually will look like were gonna go into the databases here in this video and this is one of the databases youre gonna be using its called credo reference and Ill teach you how to get there here in a minute so credo reference you can literally put in the subject or a topic that you have under the subject and it will bring up other things so this is called the mind map and Ill teach you how to get there and that can help you kind of narrow down your subject into a topic if youre still thinking about it and then theres another database and its called issues and controversies and this has lots of information I all I did was put in mental health or mental illness in the search bar and it brought up a couple of interesting questions or interesting topics and that can help you narrow it down this also can help you kind of get some background information because you may pick something that you really dont know about or something that you maybe saw in menus that you wanted to get into and all you understand is kind of whats been said in the news and so you dont have anything in the background any how to write a descriptive essaybackground information that background information is called context and as you already know from the memoir essay context is everything so if you dont if youre trying to solve a problem you need to know what the context is whats been tried in the past why things are the way they are and and having that contest kind of helps you think about RA what are some possible solutions for the problem so once youre done with that what you really want to do after you have your topic is that you want to create a research question and this could probably be the toughest thing because when you have your research question you want to be able to word it in a way and again I would write down a research question I wouldnt just think about it and just keep in your head I would literally write it down on a piece of paper and have that piece of paper with you as you are researching so once you have a research question what you want to do is write a research question thats gonna identify a problem and the question can not be a yes-or-no question you also cant urine you should not be able to answer that question with a how to write a descriptive essay
