hold off on copying and pasting dont worry youre gonna be emailed this alright so here are the exercises that I love when it comes to helping students figure out their topic the first ones called the essence objects exercise and if youve been on my website before you how to write a compare and contrast essay introductionhave maybe seen it before but the essence objects exercise basically involves thinking about what are the memories the moments the like you know standout images from my life that have somehow shaped me and you express each one in terms of a different object so Ill give you a couple examples an essence object for me might be something like oh this book the book of beautiful questions now the reason why this book might be such a great book for me for my essence objects less is that I love beautiful questions beautiful questions for me serve and helping me with my work with students they also help me connect with strangers which is something that I love to do they also host they help me vulnerability is one of my core values and so vulnerability helps this beautiful questions help me get to that thing so that would be one in fact I could just say if I wanted to actually a blank sheet of paper would be an the object for me because that represents sort of potential and represents right earliness which is something to identify with an essence object for me
