point they dont take the time to establish a relationship between the writer and the reader and I think thats important in my culture well happened I have a personal example two weeks ago I wrote an email to my friends in Colombia and I asked them when was the birthday of one of our friends and I went straight to the point I didnt say anything else and they replay their reply was you are so rude so unpolite you didnt ask us how we were doing you didnt say anything about you and they were right they were hi class my name is van kit Im currently a undergraduate at university of california los angeles im almost complete completely done with my degree in economics from university of california today Im trying to go over a prep course so theres going to be the beginning of a prep course for the AP level macro and micro economics class hopefully what Im going to do is go over some basic foundational principles of macro and micro economics and then we go over to microeconomics do a couple lessons there try to finish that up our view of that and then go over to macroeconomics and do a review of that now for this class Ive used to particular guidebooks the first is the Barons book for the AP macro class in the micro class and the second book that I have is the five steps of five thats by mcgraw-hill and Ive used that as well so both of these are just a guide for all your students out there their theyre great tools I know other books homeworks of america are there too so go ahead and use these but for the purpose of this class Ive used those as a guide basically what were going to try to do is talk a little bit about our macro class and micro class in terms of foundations today but before I to get and dig into that I just want to explain the brief course about how the AP test works for both macro and micro theres a I believe a 60 question Mac Im a multiple choice question which they give you 70 minutes for after that is the essay part they give you about 10 minutes to read over that and prepare an outline and then they give you three questions for the essays one is a large question the other two are small and youre given about I believe 50 minutes for that particular part so thats the way this macro and micro AP test works you know Im going to try to hit all the major concepts that the AP test test you on so hopefully Ill go over everything and first of all I mean so I think with that well just start off with basic definitions for todays so the question is what is economics so economics is basically the study of how resources are used in society thats basically how it is okay so we try to see and study how resources are being used in in society and then the next part of economics is how can we efficiently use these resources right so theres study resources and theyre sufficiently using these resources and thats basically what economics is about now the two kinds of economic stirs theres a macro and theres micro okay so Im homeworks of americagoing to try to write that down real quick okay for you guys theres theres macro okay versus micro okay now what is the major difference in macro and micro Sol macroeconomics studies the economic system of an entire country and the world ok so imagine if theres a forest its the entire force right so you study the entire GDP s of countries you can study how iconic how economies translate to each other so how does China trade with the u.s. everything deals with the macroeconomic level the micro economic level is really the individual units in income economic system example meet as individual you as an individual firms like Stephen Academy okay so each of these firms are studied at the micro level so if you imagine forest as being the economic macro level the micro is just one tree does that make sense so thats basically how macro and micro economics or are dealt with so with that more you know Universal economic concepts theres also term called positive versus normative economics positive economics deals more with the scientific part of economics where you study using data right the other part normative is actually based on value so homeworks of america
