truth 101 - Unmasking Deception in History and Media
Miles Mathis's "Truth 101" argues that widespread deception by government and media is rampant and long-standing, extending far beyond isolated "fake news" incidents. He contends that these entities routinely fabricate events and historical narratives, citing examples like the Jussie Smollett case and the alleged faking of the Titanic's demise, the O.J. Simpson trial, and the identities of figures like Sharon Tate and Queen Elizabeth I. Mathis attributes this to a desire to maintain control, incite division, and prevent the public from recognizing the extent of the falsehoods. He claims that his research, based on mainstream sources, exposes these contradictions and impossibilities, and that his lack of establishment affiliation explains why his findings are largely ignored or suppressed through methods like search engine manipulation and online harassment. The author encourages readers to examine his extensive body of work to see the evidence for themselves, asserting that they will find a consistent pattern of manipulated truths.
Pervasive Fake News and Lies: Mathis asserts that lying is not limited to occasional "fake news" incidents but is a fundamental characteristic of mainstream media and government. He states, "But what I discovered about 20 years ago is that the media isn't just lying to us about a few things, it is lying to us about almost everything. And always has." He uses examples like the Jussie Smollett hoax and the alleged Gretchen Whitmer kidnapping plot as recent, exposed instances of fabrication or manipulation.
Erosion of Trust: Mathis highlights the declining trust in government and media, attributing it partly to events like the COVID-19 pandemic. He claims that this lack of trust is justified and that the extent of the deception is far greater than the public realizes. "Trust in government, and especially the media, has been tanking for decades, and now runs at about 10%. The Covid fiasco killed the last trust we had."
Suppression of Truth and Dissent: Mathis describes how he believes his own work, which aims to expose these lies, is suppressed through various methods. These include search engine manipulation (alleging Google's refusal to list his papers prominently), the deployment of online trolls to disrupt discussions, the deletion of his content and reader comments on platforms like Wikipedia and YouTube, and the promotion of his critics in search results. "The way they actually deal with me is either by pretending I don't exist, or by surrounding me with noise." He also identifies organizations like RationalWiki, Snopes, and "Skeptical" societies as government or CIA fronts designed to "blackwash" government critics.
The Role of "Nobodies" in Exposing Truth: Mathis positions himself as an independent researcher whose lack of affiliation with established institutions allows him to uncover truths that specialists within those fields are either unable or unwilling to reveal. "No one has ever done this because until I came along, everything was done by specialists. History was done by prominent historians, so the government only needed to control a few hundred people in that arena." He emphasizes his reliance on publicly available mainstream sources and his method of compiling seemingly disparate facts to expose contradictions. "As my readers know, I get it from their own mainstream sources. I scour the web and the history books, using their own facts and photos against them."
"Sister Switch" and Other Faked Events: Mathis introduces the concept of the "sister switch" and other elaborate hoaxes to illustrate the extent of the alleged deception. He provides examples such as Sharon Tate and Amelia Earhart supposedly being replaced by look-alike sisters after their supposed deaths. "Did you know that Sharon had a sister Patti who looked just like her? Or at least she did after she allegedly died. Before 1969 there was no Patti, but after 1969, there she was, looking just like Sharon." He also discusses the alleged faking of the Titanic sinking for insurance fraud, the O.J. Simpson trial to incite race wars (positing Simpson was gay and Nicole Brown Simpson was a "beard"), and the replacement of Queen Elizabeth I with her gay crossdressing brother Fitzroy.
Hidden Clues and "Rubbing it in Our Faces": Mathis believes that those perpetrating these deceptions often leave subtle clues in plain sight, knowing that the general public will overlook them. He uses the example of the pearl necklace in a portrait of Queen Elizabeth I to suggest the "creation" of Elizabeth from Fitzroy ("Adam's rib"). "Well, it is a clue they left for you, knowing you would miss it. I told you, it is their favorite thing, throwing clues in your face knowing they won't stick."
Important Ideas and Facts (as presented by Mathis):
The Jussie Smollett and Gretchen Whitmer kidnapping plot incidents are examples of exposed "fake news," with the latter allegedly being an FBI operation.
Trust in government and media is at approximately 10%.
Miles Mathis has been conducting independent research for around 20 years, resulting in approximately 145 volumes of writing.
His research relies on publicly available mainstream sources like Wikipedia, history books, and peer-reviewed papers.
The official latitude of the Titanic crash site (41.7N) is geographically inconsistent with iceberg presence in the Atlantic during April, as it aligns with the latitude of Barcelona and Rome within the warm Gulfstream. "There hasn't been an iceberg at that latitude in April in the Atlantic since the last ice age 11,000 years ago."
The Titanic sinking was a faked insurance fraud, with the ship likely hidden in Hamburg.
The O.J. Simpson case was staged to incite racial tensions, and Simpson was allegedly gay, with Nicole Brown Simpson serving as a "beard."
Nicole Brown Simpson had a look-alike sister who appeared after her supposed death.
Sharon Tate also had a look-alike sister, Patti, who appeared after her supposed death.
Amelia Earhart had a previously unknown look-alike sister, Muriel, who became prominent after Earhart's disappearance.
Queen Elizabeth I was secretly replaced by her gay crossdressing brother Fitzroy due to her barrenness. "The truth is Fitzroy was exactly the same age as Elizabeth, because he was Elizabeth after a certain point."
Quotes:
"People are hungry for the truth."
"Pretend for a moment I don't know anything about anything...Explain to me, in a language I can understand, what in farken floop is going on."
"You shouldn't believe me based on my bio or my IQ. That's not how these things should be decided, is it? You should believe my evidence."
"Taken individually, they can spin all these facts their own way. The story only starts to break down if you sweep all the distant and separate facts into a pile and start comparing them."

Answer Key:
Mathis states that the establishment primarily deals with dissenting voices like his by either pretending they don't exist (ignoring or refusing to promote their work) or by surrounding them with noise (using trolls and disinformation to discredit them).
These cases are presented as examples of "fake news" that was exposed because of political opposition. Mathis argues that these instances came to light because one political party exposed the other's deception for their own gain.
Mathis argues that mainstream media and government are lying about almost everything, and have been for a long time. He contends that the Covid "fiasco" was the event that finally destroyed the remaining public trust in these institutions.
Mathis's method involves gathering information from mainstream sources and comparing seemingly disparate facts, contradictions, anomalies, and impossibilities. He believes his independence from controlled academic fields and his ability to spot visual discrepancies allow him to see patterns others miss.
Mathis claims that those perpetrating the deception believe the public is too stupid to connect the dots. They think that individual pieces of evidence can be spun, and the truth only becomes apparent when seemingly unrelated facts are brought together and compared.
Mathis argues the Titanic disaster was faked as a massive insurance fraud because the ship was worth more "dead" than alive. He highlights the implausibility of an iceberg existing at the reported latitude in April, as it is located in the warm Gulfstream far south of iceberg territory.
According to Mathis, the O.J. Simpson case was faked to incite race wars and divide the public. He claims Nicole Brown Simpson was always just a "beard" because O.J. Simpson was gay and living with his pool boy, Kato Kaelin, suggesting there was no jealousy over Ronald Goldman.
The "sister switch" involves replacing a famous person with a look-alike sister after their supposed death. Mathis alleges this happened with Sharon Tate and Amelia Earhart, claiming sisters who were previously unknown suddenly appeared looking remarkably similar to the deceased celebrity.
Mathis claims that Queen Elizabeth I was actually replaced by her gay, cross-dressing "brother" Fitzroy after she was discovered to be barren. He argues they looked identical (both being bald) and that Fitzroy could continue the lineage as a father for a longer period.
Mathis points to the strangely looped pearl necklace in a portrait of Queen Elizabeth I, noting that the loop falls over her lowest rib, the "Adam's rib." He interprets this as a deliberate clue referencing the biblical story of Eve being created from Adam's rib, symbolizing Elizabeth's alleged creation from Fitzroy.

Frequently Asked Questions Based on "Truth 101" by Miles Mathis
1. What is the main argument of "Truth 101"? Miles Mathis argues that mainstream media and governments consistently lie to the public about almost everything, not just isolated incidents. He contends that this has been ongoing for a long time, but it is often concealed because those who expose it are typically not "important" figures whose revelations would be widely acknowledged by the establishment.
2. What examples does Mathis provide to illustrate the concept of "fake news"? Mathis cites the Jussie Smollett case, where a staged attack was initially presented as a hate crime, and the alleged kidnapping plot against Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer, which a jury determined was orchestrated by the FBI. These examples, where the truth eventually came to light in mainstream press due to political motivations, serve as evidence that fabricating news is indeed possible.
3. According to Mathis, why doesn't the establishment simply silence or discredit individuals who expose these lies? Mathis believes that outright silencing or physical harm isn't their primary method. Instead, they prefer to ignore or marginalize such individuals by refusing to promote their work through search engines, flooding online discussions with disinformation and trolls, and promoting critics with artificially inflated online presence. This creates "noise" that prevents the truth from gaining traction.
4. What motivates these widespread deceptions, according to Mathis? Mathis suggests various motivations depending on the specific event. In the case of the Titanic, he posits it was a massive insurance fraud. For events like the O.J. Simpson trial, Rodney King, and George Floyd, he argues they are faked to incite societal divisions (race wars, etc.) and divert public attention away from those in power.
5. How does Mathis conduct his research and gather evidence for his claims? Mathis states that he relies heavily on mainstream sources, including online resources like Wikipedia, Geni.com, historical records, peer-reviewed papers, and even news archives. He argues that the evidence is often publicly available but fragmented and spun in ways that obscure the truth. His method involves compiling seemingly disparate facts and contradictions to reveal underlying deceptions.
6. Mathis claims to have uncovered numerous instances of "sister switches" or look-alikes. What are some examples he provides? Mathis discusses alleged instances where public figures were seemingly replaced by look-alike sisters. He mentions Sharon Tate and her sister Patti, and Amelia Earhart and her sister Muriel, claiming these "sisters" only became prominent after the supposed deaths of the original figures. He also points to photographic inconsistencies as evidence of these fabrications.
7. What is the "brother switch" example Mathis uses, and what is his reasoning behind it? Mathis presents the case of Queen Elizabeth I and a supposedly deceased illegitimate half-brother, Fitzroy. He argues they looked identical and were both bald, suggesting Fitzroy may have secretly replaced Elizabeth due to her barrenness. He interprets details in portraits, like a strangely looped pearl necklace, as symbolic clues left intentionally to hint at this deception.
8. Why does Mathis believe that these elaborate lies and manipulations have gone unnoticed by the majority of the population? Mathis argues that the public is intentionally kept ignorant and that critical information is compartmentalized within specialized fields. He believes people are conditioned to trust authority and are overwhelmed by the sheer volume of information and disinformation, making it difficult to synthesize the truth. Furthermore, the constant promotion of official narratives and the marginalization of dissenting voices contribute to the widespread acceptance of falsehoods.

Cast of Characters (Principal People Mentioned)
Miles Mathis: The author of "Truth 101." He describes himself as a realist artist turned independent researcher and writer. He claims to have spent the last 20 years uncovering widespread deception by governments and the media through meticulous research of mainstream sources. He has published approximately 145 volumes of his writings.
Jussie Smollett: A black actor known for his role in the TV show Empire and as a child actor in Mighty Ducks. He reported a hate crime attack in January 2019, which was later found by police investigation to have been staged with two acquaintances. He was subsequently charged with filing a false police report. Mathis uses this as an example of admitted "fake news."
Gretchen Whitmer: The current Governor of Michigan. Mathis refers to an alleged 2020 kidnapping plot against her by a group called the Wolverine Watchmen, claiming the individuals were acquitted because the jury believed the event was orchestrated by the FBI. He uses this as another example of exposed "fake news."
Kato Kaelin: An actor and houseguest of O. J. Simpson during the time of the murders of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Goldman. Mathis presents him as evidence of O. J. Simpson's alleged homosexuality, suggesting Kaelin's close living situation with Simpson was unusual for a pool boy.
Nicole Brown Simpson: The ex-wife of O. J. Simpson, who was murdered in 1994. Mathis claims she was just a "beard" for O. J. Simpson's alleged homosexuality and that her death was faked to incite race wars. He alleges her sister, who looked identical, appeared publicly after her "death."
Ronald Goldman: A friend of Nicole Brown Simpson who was also murdered in 1994. Mathis mentions him as Nicole's alleged lover, a point he dismisses due to his theory about Simpson's sexuality.
Sharon Tate: A famous actress who was murdered in 1969. Mathis claims that her sister, Patti, who looked just like her, appeared after her death, suggesting a "sister switch."
Patti Tate: The sister of Sharon Tate. According to Mathis, she had no public presence before Sharon's death in 1969 but appeared afterward looking identical to her sister, implying a substitution.
Debra Tate: Another sister of Sharon Tate. Mathis uses photos of her to contrast with alleged manipulated images of Patti, arguing that discrepancies prove the ongoing fabrication of these events.
Amelia Earhart: A famous American aviation pioneer who disappeared in 1937. Mathis claims she had a sister, Muriel, who became famous after her disappearance, despite no prior recognition or photographic evidence of them together, suggesting a "sister switch."
Muriel Earhart: The sister of Amelia Earhart. Mathis claims she became publicly known only after Amelia's disappearance in 1937, implying a substitution.
Queen Elizabeth I: A famous English monarch. Mathis proposes a theory that she was barren and was secretly replaced by her half-brother, Fitzroy, who was a gay crossdresser, to secure the Tudor lineage.
Henry Fitzroy, 1st Duke of Richmond and Somerset: The illegitimate son of King Henry VIII. Mathis claims that Fitzroy secretly replaced his half-sister Elizabeth I on the throne due to her infertility, suggesting they were the same age and that historical accounts of his early death are false. He posits that Elizabeth's mannerisms and appearance were due to Fitzroy's male anatomy and habits.
Dr. J. Murray Mitchell: A scientist from NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration) who, according to Mathis, published in National Geographic in 1975 that the Earth was in a warm period from 1880 to 1940, contradicting the typical conditions for icebergs in the Titanic's alleged location.
Discuss Fake news examples.
The source discusses several examples of what it considers to be fake news, which the author defines as intentionally fabricated or misleading information presented as truth1 ....
Here are the examples provided in the source:
•
The Jussie Smollett case: The author mentions the incident where black actor Jussie Smollett reported being physically attacked with racial and homophobic slurs1 . The source notes that a police investigation later found that Smollett paid two acquaintances to stage the assault, and he was subsequently charged with filing a false police report1 . This is presented as an admitted case of fake news1 .
•
The alleged kidnapping plot against Michigan governor Gretchen Whitmer: The source refers to this as a "fake 2020 kidnapping plot" where the individuals involved, allegedly called the Wolverine Watchmen, were acquitted because the jury ruled the event had been run by the FBI3 . This is another example the author provides of what he believes to be fake news3 .
•
The sinking of the Titanic: The author claims that the sinking of the Titanic was faked as a "massive insurance fraud"4 . He argues that the ship was worth more dead than alive and was likely hidden in a port in Hamburg after its name was painted over4 . He points to the alleged latitude of the crash site being too far south for icebergs in April and the supposed lack of unclaimed bodies of wealthy first-class passengers as evidence against the official story4 ....
•
The O. J. Simpson murder case: This event is presented as being "all faked" to incite race wars, distracting the population from those in power7 . The author posits that O. J. Simpson was gay and Nicole Brown Simpson was merely a "beard," suggesting the motive presented in the mainstream narrative was false7 . He also claims that Nicole had a sister who looked just like her who appeared after Nicole's alleged death, implying a fabrication8 .
•
The Sharon Tate murder case: Similar to the O. J. Simpson case, the author suggests a "sister switch" occurred here as well8 . He claims that Sharon Tate had a sister Patti who looked identical to her and appeared after Sharon's alleged death8 .... The author even includes images he believes show evidence of this fabrication8 ....
•
Amelia Earhart: The author states that Amelia Earhart also had a sister, Muriel, who no one had heard of before Earhart's disappearance in 1937 but who suddenly became famous afterward10 . The lack of pictures of them together is presented as suspicious10 .
•
Queen Elizabeth I: The author proposes a "brother switch," claiming that Queen Elizabeth I was actually her brother Fitzroy, who was a gay crossdresser11 .... He suggests that Fitzroy replaced Elizabeth because she was barren12 . The author points to their similar appearance, baldness, and the suspicious circumstances surrounding Fitzroy's early life and alleged death as supporting evidence11 .... He also interprets a detail in a portrait, the looping pearl necklace revealing an "Adam's rib," as a clue left intentionally14 .
•
The Wikipedia page on tides: The author mentions his own paper on tides and claims that the Wikipedia page on tides was deleted and rewritten to specifically address and counter his arguments15 . This is presented as an example of how those in power manipulate information15 .
The author argues that these examples, along with many others he has researched, demonstrate that the government and media engage in widespread deception, not just about a few things but about almost everything2 . He suggests that these "fake news" events are often politically motivated or serve the interests of the powerful2 .... He believes that the truth about these events is often hidden in plain sight within mainstream sources, but people fail to see it because they do not compile and compare seemingly disparate pieces of information16 ....

Discuss Government media lies.
The source "Truth 101 by Miles Mathis" asserts that the government and media are widely known to be lying to the public1 . The author states that trust in government and especially the media has been declining for decades, hitting a low point with the "Covid fiasco"1 . He contends that what he discovered about 20 years ago is that the media isn't just lying about a few things, but about almost everything, and has always done so2 .
The author provides several examples to support his claim of government and media deception:
•
Jussie Smollett: The case of Jussie Smollett, who falsely reported a hate crime, is presented as an example of "fake news" where something untrue was made up and reported3 . The author notes that Smollett, a black actor on the show Empire, was caught fabricating the attack, which occurred around the time of the "whole BLM thing in 2019"1 ....
•
Gretchen Whitmer Kidnapping Plot: The alleged kidnapping plot against Michigan governor Gretchen Whitmer in 2020 is mentioned as another instance where the author believes the mainstream press's narrative is false. He highlights that the individuals involved were acquitted after the jury ruled the event was run by the FBI1 .
•
These examples are said to have come to light because they were investigated or leaked by the opposing political party, with Smollett being a "Democratic operative" whose cover was blown by Republicans, and the same for Gretchen Whitmer2 .
According to the author, the reason why the pervasive nature of government and media lies hasn't come out in the mainstream is that he is "nobody"2 . He argues that cover-ups are exposed only when "important people blow their cover"2 . The government has to keep a lid on these widespread deceptions to prevent further erosion of public trust2 . The author believes that if the average citizen realized that almost everything they are taught in school is false, it would lead to a "major meltdown," causing institutions like public schools to fail2 ....
The author suggests that instead of directly confronting or silencing him, the government and media employ tactics like:
•
Pretending he doesn't exist: Google allegedly refuses to list most of his papers prominently4 .
•
Surrounding him with noise: Mainstream forums where he participates are supposedly swamped with "hundreds of screaming trolls from Langley or the Air Force Bases"4 . Discussions are sometimes closed, and posts deleted on platforms like Wikipedia and YouTube4 .
•
Promoting his critics: Search results for his name allegedly prioritize his critics, even if their content has low engagement compared to his4 .
•
Creating "blackwash" sites: The author identifies websites like RationalWiki, Snopes, SPLC, and "Skeptical" societies as government or CIA fronts designed to slander government critics5 . He claims these sites and major magazines engage in superficial "debunking" without providing substantive arguments5 .
The author asserts that his own research exposes these lies by compiling and comparing seemingly disparate facts found in mainstream sources like Google, Wikipedia, Geni.com, history books, and peer-reviewed papers6 .... He believes that while individual facts can be spun by the government and media, the contradictions become apparent when they are brought together7 . He claims that his independence from academic fields and his ability as an artist to spot visual and logical discrepancies allow him to see through these deceptions8 .
The author then provides several specific examples of what he considers major government and media lies:
•
The Sinking of the Titanic: He argues that the Titanic disaster was a faked insurance fraud, as the ship's reported crash site at 41.7N latitude is in a warm part of the Atlantic where icebergs haven't been present in April since the last ice age9 .... He suggests the ship was hidden and its name painted over11 . He also finds the details of body recovery and the lack of claims for first-class passengers suspicious11 .
•
The O. J. Simpson Trial: The author posits that the O. J. Simpson case was faked to incite race wars. He claims that Nicole Brown Simpson was just a "beard" because O. J. Simpson was gay, pointing to his living situation with Kato Kaelin12 . He also suggests that Nicole had a sister who looked just like her and whose public existence began after Nicole's alleged death13 .
•
Sharon Tate: Similar to the Simpson case, the author claims that Sharon Tate had a sister, Patti, who looked just like her and appeared after Sharon's alleged death13 . He presents a poorly edited photo as evidence of continued fakery related to this14 .
•
Amelia Earhart: The author states that Amelia Earhart had a sister, Muriel, who was unknown before Earhart's disappearance but became famous afterward, with no known photos of them together15 .
•
Queen Elizabeth I: The author proposes that Queen Elizabeth I was replaced by her crossdressing gay brother Fitzroy, who allegedly died young but whose death and early life were suspiciously concealed16 .... He interprets a detail in a portrait, a strangely looped pearl necklace revealing a "lowest rib," as a clue referencing the biblical creation of Eve from Adam's rib, symbolizing Elizabeth's "creation" from Fitzroy19 .
Finally, the author mentions that even Wikipedia has been manipulated to address his claims, citing his paper on tides as an example where the Wikipedia page was deleted and rewritten20 .
In summary, the source presents a view that government and media lies are pervasive and intentional, designed to control the public and prevent them from understanding the "truth." The author provides various historical and contemporary examples, supported by his interpretations of publicly available information, to illustrate his points. He also describes the methods he believes are used to suppress dissenting voices and maintain these false narratives.
1 PAGE SUMMARY
Unmasking Deception: A Narrative of Truth in a World of Fabricated Realities
In an era saturated with information, discerning truth from falsehood has become a critical challenge. Miles Mathis, in his work "Truth 101," contends that the prevalence of "fake news" extends far beyond isolated incidents, suggesting a systemic and historical pattern of widespread deception orchestrated by governments and the media1 .... Written for a broad audience, including those new to these concepts, Mathis aims to expose the alleged fabrications that shape our understanding of the world3 .
Mathis argues that while occasional instances of fake news, such as the Jussie Smollett case and the alleged plot against Governor Gretchen Whitmer, gain mainstream attention, these are merely the tip of the iceberg1 .... He posits that governmental and media entities routinely engage in comprehensive deception, a practice that has eroded public trust for decades1 .... The author suggests that the exposure of certain fake news stories only occurs when politically motivated entities find it advantageous to reveal them, while a broader, more profound level of manipulation remains concealed to maintain the stability of the established order2 .
Mathis attributes his ability to discern these alleged deceptions to decades of independent research, unburdened by the constraints of academic institutions or financial pressures5 .... He emphasizes that his findings are not based on privileged information but rather on a meticulous examination of mainstream sources, including websites, history books, and peer-reviewed papers7 . According to Mathis, the seemingly illogical persistence of "incriminating evidence" within these mainstream sources stems from the assumption that the general public lacks the capacity to synthesize disparate facts and recognize underlying contradictions8 . His methodology involves collating these anomalies to reveal what he perceives as elaborate scams8 .
To illustrate his claims, Mathis presents several compelling examples. He argues that the sinking of the Titanic was a faked insurance fraud, citing inconsistencies in the reported location of the wreck and the absence of icebergs at that latitude9 .... Similarly, he contends that the O. J. Simpson trial was a staged event designed to incite racial tensions, suggesting that key figures and motives were misrepresented12 . Mathis further proposes the existence of "sister switches" in the cases of Sharon Tate and Amelia Earhart, where look-alike sisters allegedly replaced deceased public figures13 .... In a more historically distant example, he posits that Queen Elizabeth I was actually her brother Fitzroy, a truth purportedly concealed through manipulated records and symbolic clues in portraits15 ....
Mathis addresses the likely skepticism surrounding his claims by asserting that the powerful entities he critiques do not typically engage in direct suppression of dissenting voices like his18 . Instead, he suggests their tactics involve ignoring his work, generating "noise" through online trolls, manipulating search engine results, and discrediting him through "blackwashing" sites18 .... He encourages readers not to rely on his credentials but to examine the evidence he presents in his extensive writings, inviting them to embark on their own journey of discovery5 ....
In conclusion, Miles Mathis presents a provocative perspective, asserting that the public is subject to widespread and historical deception across various domains. He encourages critical thinking and independent investigation of his claims, suggesting that the truth, though obscured, can be uncovered through diligent scrutiny of publicly available information. The central theme of his work is a call to question established narratives and to recognize the potential for manipulation in the information we consume daily2 ....
PODCAST SUMMARY
This source introduces a podcast episode reviewing an article titled "Truth 101" by Miles Matthysse, found on milesmatis.com. The hosts, Lenny and Maria, are motivated by a pervasive feeling of disinformation and a fractured information landscape, where discerning truth has become increasingly difficult. They aim to unpack Matthysse's arguments, whose bold central claim is that we are experiencing a significant pattern of deception woven into mainstream narratives, far beyond mere mistakes or bias. To illustrate this, Matthysse presents high-profile case studies like the Jussie Smollett incident and the Gretchen Whitmer kidnapping plot, suggesting these reveal how media can present falsehoods as truth, eroding public trust in institutions.
PODCAST TRANSCRIPT
Welcome to the daily briefs.info Lenny and Maria deep dive podcast show review of the article Truth 101 by Miles Matthysse from milesmatis.com.
Wow. You know, you always hear about this fake news thing and it feels like every time you turn around someone's accusing someone else of like
spreading lies and you know
it's gets so hard to even know like what to believe anymore.
It really is like it feels like the whole information landscape is just fractured like you can't trust anything you read.
Yeah. And and that's exactly why we wanted to take a closer look at this article today. Um
you know the author Miles Matthysse, he talks about this idea of trying to explain everything that's going on to someone who's totally new to it all, right?
Like he uses this analogy of a sheltered 10th grader.
Interesting.
Someone who's just kind of starting to pay attention to the world, wants to like understand what's happening,
but they need like clear explanations.
They need like the truth,
you know? Exactly. And and that really resonates, I think, with what so many people are feeling right now.
Absolutely. It's like everyone's craving this sense of like clarity and just trying to figure out
what's real.
And so our mission in this deep dive is to sort of unpack the arguments that Matis is making in truth 101.
Okay?
And his main point is a pretty bold one.
He's basically saying that we're not just dealing with like a a few mistakes here and there or even just biased reporting,
right?
He's talking about something much bigger. like a pattern of deception woven into like the mainstream narrative.
Wow, that's a huge claim.
Yeah, it is. And and you kind of have to wonder like what evidence does he have to back that up
exactly like what's he basing this on?
So, he starts off by highlighting a couple of high-profile cases.
Okay.
That I think a lot of people will remember.
Okay.
The first one is the Jesse Smlette case from back in January 2019.
Oh, yeah. I remember that one.
And at this point, it's pretty much accepted that his story about being attacked
Yeah.
with those racial and homophobic slurs rape wasn't actually true.
And that was such a big story at the time, like especially with everything going on with the Black Lives Matter movement.
Yeah. And and this was all before co too.
Right. Right. It was like a different world almost.
It really was.
So it seems like the author is trying to place this within a very specific context.
Exactly. Like a specific social and political moment.
Yeah.
And then of course the investigation found out that Smlette had actually paid those two guys.
Oh, right.
To stage the whole thing.
It's crazy to think about that now.
Yeah. And because he was a pretty well-known actor from Empire and he was even in Mighty Ducks.
Yeah. I loved him in Mighty Ducks.
It became this massive story.
It was everywhere.
And and I I think the author is using this case
as an example of how something can be presented as truth by the media,
right,
and then completely fall apart.
And that totally undermines people's trust,
you know.
Yeah. Exactly.
When you see something like that happen, it makes you question everything. thing. And then the second example he brings up is the alleged kidnapping plot against Gretchen Whitmer, the governor of Michigan.
Oh, yeah. Yeah.
This was in 2020,
right?
And if you remember the guys involved, the Wolverine Watchmen
Mhm.
they were actually acquitted.
Wow. I almost forgot about that.
Yeah. And the jury basically decided that the FBI had been like
really
pulling the strings the whole time.
Wow. So the whole narrative was flipped on its head.
Totally.
So the author is using these two cases to say that these fake news and incidents aren't just like hypothetical, they're actually happening.
Yeah. And they're happening in these really high-profile situations.
And that then leads him to talk about this bigger issue of trust.
Trust in institutions, I guess.
Yeah. Like trust in the government, and the media.
Yeah.
And he says this decline in trust.
Mhm.
It's not something new.
No.
It's been happening for decades.
And he thinks it's gotten to the point where only like 10% of people
10%. Wow. That's pretty low.
He even Jo that those 10% must be living under a rock or something.
But even if that number isn't exact,
right,
it definitely feels like there's this huge sense of disillusionment out there.
Totally. People just don't trust the authorities like they used to.
Yeah.
And and that kind of sets the stage for his even bigger claim.
Okay. What's that?
So he's saying that the media isn't just making mistakes.
Mhm.
Or being biased,
right?
He's saying they're lying.
Like outright lying.
Yeah. And not just about a few things
about about pretty much everything.
Wow.
And they've been doing it for a long time.
That's a really hard pill to swallow.
It is. And I think the first question anyone would ask is
Yeah.
If this is so widespread, why isn't everyone talking about it?
Exactly. Like why is this guy the only one who seems to know about it?
And and his answer is basically that he's a nobody.
Okay.
Like he's not a big name in the media,
right?
So he doesn't have that platform to spread his message.
So he's saying he's like an outsider.
Yeah. And he points out that when we do see examples of fake news being exposed,
it's usually because someone important is being targeted by their opponents.
Like a political hit job almost.
Exactly. Like he sees it with Smlet and Whitmer.
Mhm.
But he thinks there's this whole other level of deception,
right,
that doesn't rely on those kinds of partisan fights.
It's like a deeper, more systemic thing.
Yeah.
That's going on kind of behind the scenes.
And he also says that the government has a huge interest in keeping this quiet.
Why is that?
Because he thinks if people really understood how much they've been lied to,
Yeah.
even going back to like what they learned in school,
it would cause a total meltdown.
Like society would just
Yeah. He thinks it would destabilize everything.
So he's saying there's a motive for keeping people in the dark.
Exactly.
Okay. But if that's true, why not just silence this guy directly? Like why even let him publish this stuff?
Well, he actually addresses that.
Oh, he does.
He thinks outright suppression isn't the best tactic. Instead, he believes they try to marginalize his work. like make it seem unimportant.
Yeah. And create all this noise around it.
So people don't take it seriously.
Exactly.
Interesting. So what kind of experiences has he had that make him think this?
He gives some pretty specific examples.
Like what?
Well, he says that Google manipulates their search results.
Oh wow.
To push his papers down.
So even if you're looking for his stuff,
Yeah.
you won't find it.
And he says he has screenshots to prove it.
So he's saying there's like a deliberate effort to Yeah.
Bury his work.
And then he has this other claim that's even more out there.
What's that?
He says they're these screaming trolls from Langley.
Langley, like the CIA.
Yeah. Or from Air Force bases
and they go on to online forums
like what he's posting.
Yeah. Like the owns forum.
Oh yeah. I've heard of that one.
And they try to disrupt the conversations like
just by like attacking him and his ideas
trying to derail the whole thing.
Exactly. And he says when that doesn't work, they just shut down the whole discussion
like delete the threads and everything.
Yeah. He says it's happened. on physics forums and even Wikipedia.
Wow. So, it's like they're trying to prevent any platform where his ideas might get some traction.
And he also says that comments on his YouTube videos get deleted right away.
That's interesting.
And then if you search for his name
Yeah.
Google will show you his critics
even if they're not.
Yeah. Even if they're not that popular.
It's like they're artificially boosting them.
Yeah. He thinks it's a way to create doubt and confusion
without having to directly address his arguments.
Right. Lever.
And then he brings up this term black cockwashing
which he says is basically slandering anyone who criticizes the government.
Okay.
Or the established narrative.
And he names specific organizations that he thinks are involved in this.
Which ones?
Like Rational Wiki Snopes, the SPRC, and all those skeptical societies.
So he's saying these groups are basically government fronts.
Yeah, that's his claim.
To discredit anyone who challenges the status quo.
Exactly. And he even says that mainstream magazines do this, too.
How so? Oh,
through what he calls ineffective debunking.
H
like he mentions popular mechanics trying to debunk 9/11 truth.
Oh, interesting.
But he says they didn't actually provide any real evidence.
So it's just like a superficial
Yeah. Just dismissing the theories without really addressing them.
Interesting.
And he says his own work is often like this too.
Like people try to debunk him.
Yeah. But they don't actually engage with his arguments.
So they just say he's wrong.
Yeah. Or they make fun of him
without actually disproving anything. Right.
But at this point, I'm wondering about the author himself.
Yeah. Like what makes him so sure he's right.
Exact. He's not exactly a big name in academia or science or anything.
Right. And he addresses that head on. Okay.
He says credentials and IQ don't really matter.
What matters is the evidence.
So he's saying he's got the receipts.
Yeah. And he says his knowledge comes from doing research all day, every day for the past 20 years.
Wow. That's dedication.
Yeah. He started in 2004 after he came across 911 truth. Mhm. So that was like his entry point.
Yeah. And he says he just hates being lied to.
That's fair.
So he's really driven to find the truth.
And he's been doing this for 20 years.
Yeah. And he's written a ton. Like he says something like 145 volumes.
145. Wow. That's a lot of writing.
Yeah.
So where does he get all this information from?
Well, he says it all comes from mainstream sources.
Really?
Yeah. Like the internet history books, Google, Wikipedia,
like stuff anyone can access.
Exactly. He lists a whole bunch of them. So, he's not claiming to have some secret inside knowledge.
No, he says it's all out there in the open.
And he even explains why he thinks this incriminating evidence is still available,
right? That's a good question. Like, why wouldn't they just scrub it all?
He thinks they assume most people are too stupid to put the pieces together.
Oh, wow.
Or too distracted.
Interesting.
He says they rely on spinning individual facts.
Mhm.
But the deception becomes clear when you start connecting those facts and comparing them.
So, he sees himself is like connecting the dots.
Yeah. And he says his approach is unique.
How so?
Because he's not an expert in any particular field,
right?
So he's not bound by the same biases as like historians or physicists.
He also says that being an artist
Yeah.
helps him spot inconsistencies
like visual inconsistencies.
Yeah. And verbal ones, too.
Interesting.
So he's coming at it from a totally different angle,
right?
And he admits that to really understand his claims
Yeah.
you have to read his work.
It sounds like there's a lot to dig into.
There is, but he says it's worth it.
Okay.
And to give you a taste,
Yeah.
he offers up some what he calls tasty morsels.
Okay. I like where this is going.
So, let's start with the Titanic.
Okay. Everyone knows about the Titanic.
Exactly. So, he points out that the wreck is at 41.7 north latitude.
Okay.
And he compares that to the latitudes of like Barcelona and Rome,
which are much warmer places obviously,
right? And he also mentions that the wreck is in the Gulf Stream
where The water is pretty warm even in April,
right?
And then he just drops this bomb.
What's that?
He says there haven't been icebergs at that latitude in April
in the Atlantic.
Yeah. Since the last ice age.
Wow.
And he even cites a 1975 article from the Chicago Tribune.
Really?
And some NOAA findings.
About how there weren't even icebergs near Icelands during a certain warm period.
Interesting.
So based on all that he proposes that the sinking was actually an insurance scam.
Like they faked the whole thing.
Yeah. He says the real ship is hidden in Hamburg
with a new name, I guess.
Yeah. He even points out that they only recovered bodies of first class passengers.
Huh. I never thought about that.
And he says it's not likely that all those rich people
Yeah.
would be buried in a mass grave in Nova Scotia,
right? Like their families would have claimed them.
And he hints at some shady stuff going on with the insurance underwriters
and the media too, probably.
Yeah, he thinks they were all in on it.
So he's saying that this iconic event
Yeah.
might have been a Total fabrication.
And then he moves on to OJ Simpson.
Okay. That's another one everyone remembers.
His claim is that the whole case was faked.
Faked?
Yeah. To stir up racial tensions.
Wow.
And he says that Nicole Brown Simpson was a beard.
A beard.
Yeah. And that OJ was actually gay.
Okay. I've never heard that before.
And he points to OJ living with Ko Kalin.
Right.
And how Kalin supposedly never dated women.
And then he gets into this whole sister switch idea.
Sister switch? What's that?
He says that Nicole had lookalike sister.
H
but there are no photos of her before 1994.
Like she didn't exist before then.
Yeah. He thinks she was brought in after Nicole died.
Wow.
And he even says the photos that do show them together are fake.
Yeah. Like poorly photoshopped or something.
Yeah.
Okay. So, he's saying they basically replace Nicole with her sister.
Mhm. And he uses this same sister switch theory with Sharon Tate.
Sharon Tate, the actress.
Yeah. So, he says her sister Patty showed up after Sharon supposedly died.
This was in 1969, right?
Yeah. And they looked very similar. He even talks about a photo from Patty's wedding.
Yeah.
That he says is badly photoshopped.
How
chose Deborra Tate instead of Patty
and another woman who doesn't look like either of them.
So he's saying the fakery is still going on.
Yeah.
Okay. So he's focusing on these visual clues. Yeah. Like how people look and how photos can be manipulated.
Exactly.
And he also brings up Amelia Hart.
Amelia Hart, the pilot.
Yeah. And he says there's a sister switch there too
with her sister Muriel.
Yeah. He says Muriel became famous after Amelia disappeared.
This was in 37, right?
Yeah. And he claims there are no real photos of them together.
And he mentions how the Air Force named a plane after Muriel,
like a Loheed Electra.
Yeah. He thinks that's a clue.
Okay. So, he's applying this sister switch idea to all these different cases.
Yeah. And then he goes way back in time to Queen Elizabeth the first.
Queen Elizabeth at all. Wow. Yeah. And he calls this one a brother switch.
Okay. A brother switch.
He says she had a brother named Fitzroy and they looked almost identical,
like twins.
Yeah. And they were both bald.
Both bald.
Yeah. He says Fitzroy wore a wig,
like a fancy bathing cap, he calls it.
And there's not much evidence about when Fitzroy actually died.
H
And there was a lot of secrecy around his birth and burial.
So he's suggesting that Fitzroy might have taken Elizabeth's place.
And he says Fitzroy was a gay crossdresser who was sent to Germany.
Wow.
And he even interp It's the pearl necklace in one of Elizabeth's portraits.
Yeah.
As a symbol of Adam's rib.
So like Elizabeth was created from Fitzroy.
Yeah. It's pretty out there.
It is. But it's also fascinating.
Yeah.
So he's really going deep into history with this.
And he ends his tasty morsels with a quick mention of his work on tides.
Tides.
Yeah. He says he wrote about how they're not caused by the moon
and that the Wikipedia page on tides was rewritten.
Really?
Yeah. Right after he published his research.
Wow. So he sees that as another example of act of suppression
of his ideas.
Yeah. So it sounds like this guy is challenging a lot of what we think we know.
He really is. And I think even if you don't buy into everything he's saying
Yeah.
it's really thoughtprovoking.
It makes you question things.
Yeah. And I think that's a good thing.
I agree. It's good to be skeptical,
especially these days.
Exactly. And maybe it's time we all start looking a little closer
at the information we're being given.
Yeah. And asking more questions.
Exactly.
Well, this has been a a really interesting deep dive.
It has.
I'm definitely going to have to check out some of this guy's work.
Yeah, me too.
And maybe we can even do another deep dive on some of his specific claims.
Yeah, that's a great idea.
There's definitely a lot more to explore here.
